In what looks like a big step for the world of urology, one of the pre-eminent urologists in this area, Michel Pontari, of Philadelphia's Temple University School of Medicine, has written a paper called Mechanisms in prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome concluding that "The symptoms of CP/CPPS appear to result from an interplay between psychological factors and dysfunction in the immune, neurological and endocrine systems."
