I know of a therapist in Cranford, NJ (That's central, right?) named Linda Bernott from Advanced Physical Therapy Associates who does internal work and trigger points.

A little further north in Morris Township, NJ is Geri Guingon-White at Morristown Hospital PT at Mount Kemble. (Part of Atlantic Health System.) She is the clinical coordinator for the department and seems pretty knowledgeable.

Call Marilyn Freedman in Great Neck, NY. She's well worth the trip.

Hey pain,

I live in central NJ as well (Middlesex County) and unfortunately no PT who specializes in PFD is in our area, at least not what I've researched thus far, as I am fairly new to this as well. However, I'm starting to go to a PT at beyond basics in NYC.

by the way, we share some of the same symptoms, although I get tingling sensations in my perineum rather than pain.

Take care

Age:25 | Onset Age:21(first major flare @ 24) | Symptoms: Spasms in testes along with tingling sensations throughout groin region. | Helped By: Deep relaxation (yoga breath therapy EXTREMELY effective for me) | Worsened By: Unexplained reasons. Generally has a mind of it's own and gets worse when it wants to. Sigh...Dx: Acute Prostatitis (2007), Chronic Prostatitis (2009). Testicular Ultra Sound: Negative. Urinalysis: Negative. Prostate exam: normal-mild swelling

Jon-

Let me know what you think of beyond basics. Who are you seeing there? Is it helping? I live in Northern NJ. I looked at Beyond Basics but it seems like it is a hardship to get to in the city b/c of their hours. Do you drive in or take a bus/train?

I'm currently seeing a PT in Englewood named Nancy Ely-Maskal who seems very knowledgeable.

Copper,

Give her a call I'm not sure. Here's the #732-321-7056. Ask for her.

If you have any other questions about Sharon please do not hesitate to ask me. She is very experienced with pelvic floor dysfunction in males.

Hi, Would both of you please elaborate on your results from these two PT's in New Jersey. It would be great to have an excellent PT so close at hand. What does excellent mean?

Thank You,

Coppertop, I made an appointment with Nancy. I'm wondering how the PT turned out with her?

She was helpful and knowledgeable, and what she did alleviated my urinary symptoms but did nothing to alleviate the sitting pain. I have since relied on self PT.

Let us know how it goes for you.
