I've been doing work at the Antares Institute in Willowbrook. They're pretty good, even if I haven't obtained any benefit personally. They do know their stuff.
I too am still looking for a second opinion, however, so if anyone has any more suggestions, I am interested in a re-evaluation.

Re: Pelvic Floor Botox in/near Chicago/Midwest
All of my exercise is cardiovascular, and that has only started in the last two weeks because I had gained 15 lbs since first getting this. (I've lost 10 of them already. A simple plebeian diet and daily cardio do wonders. If only all things were so easy to fix!) I'm working through the director of ...

Pelvic Floor Botox in/near Chicago/Midwest
Hey everyone, I'm at a point at which I'm starting to seriously considering trying a Botox injection. Given that my trouble-spot has been identified as knotted and painful, and resisted a lot of physical therapy, I want to have a go at chemically making it relax. Dr. Dugan and I agree that this migh...

Re: Safety & effectiveness of WAND for UCPPS
This wand -needs- to be available commercially. The various sex toys that I've been given by various doctors are all either designed for vaginal use or for prostate stimulation. None of them effectively treat my levator ani trigger point.

Does the name Sheila Dugan mean anything to anyone?
My urologist has referred her to me. So far, her advice has been "take a crapload of gabapentin." That may or may not be helping; it's hard to tell. I have a follow up on Dec. 2.

Re: Liris - the lidocaine pretzel
Still, in my continuing quest to remain optimistic, it'd be nice to urinate without pain, if nothing else.

Re: Pain docs find successful treatment of female CPP
In short: nerve block + deep-breathing relaxation cured this woman. My therapist has been dropping hints lately that a nerve block could be in my future. My initial Elavil relief has subsided somewhat, so... lidocaine, perhaps. My pain is typically not severe enough to warrant a block, but if it per...

Re: Chronic Pain Gene Identified
This sounds quite promising. It'd be really nice to find a drug that actually works on chronic neuropathic pain.

Re: Chicago PT recommendation?
Rhonda? Rhonda who? EDIT: ah, Kotarinos. Yeah... only problem is that her clinic does not accept any insurance. I'd gladly pay absolutely anything to be rid of this, but is she really worth 5 to 10 times more than a PT who accepts insurance? There must be other, more-reasonable therapists in the Chi...

Chicago PT recommendation?
My experience with my current western-Chicago physical therapist has been iffy (three months with zero pain improvement).
Does anyone have a recommendation for a different one who I might consider consulting, at least for an evaluation?
