Re: New clinical trial of anti-NGF antibody

After going on a war path with email and phone calls to study sites I think I got into this study under the IC umbrella. The study is being done by Moldwin in NY. It starts in 8-9 weeks according to the research aide. Again, I am excited for this drug because it an antibody to NGF which plays a sign...

Re: Prostatitis and Periodontal Disease Connection

I wouldn't look to far into a study like this, I read something similar a number of years ago about the correlation between there being 32 teeth and 32 vertebrae and there is significant correlation with nerve responses. For example, you pull a tooth and your back becomes weaker or more prone to pai...

Re: New clinical trial of anti-NGF antibody

I have been following this drug since I first heard of the clinical trial on it. It is hailed as the new gold standard for chronic lower back pain (CLBP). For a phase 2 on IC it showed some significant progress. http://www.pslgroup.com/dg/245786.htm There does seem to be some heavy side effects, but...

Re: Warning: KETAMINE

Just saw this, my pain specialist says that Ketamine is great NMDA receptor blocker similar to memantine. I was going to give it a shot but looking at this now I see that it cause further LUTS? I also see some studies showing that nerve blocks may incite new nerves giving the patient a return of the...

Re: Celebrex study for inflammation

At this point I agree with the general medical community trying to treat the symptoms rather than the cause. The etiology is so complex, let us first find really good drugs to treat symptoms then we can move on to etiology. In addition, if you break the symptoms with drugs there is a chance when you...

Re: Recent Botox study

I take it to mean symptoms returned, I think that's the downfall to using Botox. The symptoms return, but if you can continually get injections and shunt the pain cycle for months or years through a mechanisim like Botox maybe it will lead to remission WITHOUT anymore intervention. Here is the full ...

Re: New England Journal of Medicine Article on Alfusozin

For what it's worth I have been taking an alphablocker since the inception of my onset. When it came on my stream was so split that when I urinated it was missing the toilet and I had bad dysuria. When I got the alphablocker, cardura, most of the dysuria went away along with split stream and the sta...
