I've resumed my normal life and I am pain free, and I used the SP. The thing is, I am not the same person I was before I engaged in the SP, so the simplest answer to your question is , no, you cannot use the SP and remain the way you were before the problem. But if you do use the SP, the person you ...

Re: Obsession

Hey Rufus, It can be tough getting used to the idea that there is no magic bullet. But the truth is there sort of is one. Unfortunately, it is a very slow bullet that works over the course of months and years. It is not a pill, it isn't a doctor, its not a herb, or device. Its you. Scoobysnacks is r...

Benzo,

Glad to see you taking control. Congrats. You'll probably feel better about yourself now, and that can only help.

Childhood stress linked to inflammation in adults

In the following news report, a study is discussed in which a link is made between childhood stress and inflammation chemicals in their blood as adults. http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn10957-why-childhood-abuse-harms-health-as-adult.html This is relevant to our condition because it suggests ho...

Sarno verus Stretch

Every now and again we hear from someone who believes that Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome is a form of TMS, or Tension Myositis Syndrome. This latter condition is believed to be caused by repressed rage and emotions that the subconscious redirects into the body through pain. I myself have read one of ...

I have to agree with many of the other posters. This also hit me overnight. It hit me when I was working on my PhD and had just gone to see my committee (and they didn't like my thesis.) My twin brother got this problem several years before me while working at an airplane convention. My twin brother...

bellowbellow, I'm glad you are listening to the advice of these guys. I was in your shoes two years ago and their support was very very helpful. Managing your anxiety is crucial, as this negatively affects the muscles that participate in this problem. You can also look into the many things that have...

In response to the earlier question, it is hit or miss, and I don't know if cold/flu/bladder pain are related or not, just that out of four times I have gotten sick with cold/flu, twice I got a brief re-appearance of bladder pain symptoms. I'm not decided about whether there is a connection or not a...

Don't panic. I sometimes get a return of my symptoms when I get the flu or a bad cold. I don't take decongestants, so that can't be the cause for me. Continue to do the stretching and relaxation stuff and see if it goes away in a week or two after the cold abates. In my case symptoms abate a week or...

That's a cool product, or should I say 'hot'? :)

Just make sure that on long trips you pull over and stretch once in a while. I realize that in an LA commute that might not be feasible.

That's a good idea. Car bucket seat can be a problem because while they are designed to support the back, they tend to do this by placing pressure on buttox and perineum. I've found that padded bench seats, like you would find in an older car, are far more comfortable.

Have you made sure that your abdomen is relaxed when you are driving? Do you find yourself clenching anything? What happens if you shift positions, for example, sit on one hip and then relax?

I agree. Read the information on the pelvic myopathy theory, and look in the the pelvic tension concept, then= start applying the concepts. They worked for me and my brother. You can do that at no cost to you while you pursue medical options with your doctors. I just flew 8 hours yesterday across th...

Hey Robert, that's when I was going there. At the time, I was just mostly scared and not sure of what to think. But in the long run, I got a good amount of knowledge on what to do. Rufus, its not easy to decide what to do in this case. If your insurance covers it and you can afford the co-pay, I say...

I saw Yoav. He is a compassionate guy who seemed to have an innate understanding of how psych effects this problem, way before I was willing to entertain the idea. He uses electrostim well, had me lie on my stomach with the electrostim and relax, and that basically became the core foundation of my r...
