Re: My story 6 months in - input appreciated

I've started experiencing rectal pain. I first felt a pressure type pain after a bowel movement a few days ago, and it's come and gone since then. My PT also says that my perineum feels very inflamed, although I'm not getting any pain from it. I hope this is only temporary and isn't a sign of my sym...

Re: My story 6 months in - input appreciated

Thanks for your input gran torino, Did all of your symptoms come on at the same time, or did your penis issues occur before/after what you describe as the standard package of symptoms inside the body? Would you say that your penile inflammation has changed over time, or has it always been at the lev...

Re: Trigger points vs Hypertonic muscle

Thanks webslave.
I posted this as a separate thread as I thought it may be an interesting question for many people, but please feel free to merge it with my original thread if you see appropriate.

Re: Trigger points vs Hypertonic muscle

Yep they're both experienced. One is Bill Taylor, and whilst I know there are some unfavourable accounts from past members, I know he has really helped a lot of people, and feel that he really helped me in the sessions we had. The other is the director of the Arizona pelvic pain therapy group, who h...

Trigger points vs Hypertonic muscle

For the last 3 months I've been attempting self-massage using a wand, following the guidelines in A HEADACHE IN THE PELVIS and also the advice from my PTs. In that time I've also been under the care of 2 PTs, one UK based and one USA based (where I now live). I keep hearing/reading about triggers po...

Re: My story 6 months in - input appreciated

I've had a rough few days, earlier today I finished urinating and noticed a clear jelly like substance with little clumps coming out of my urethra. I've never had discharge before. I haven't masturbated or even had an erection today so not sure it could be semen. I've self tested with a urine sample...

Re: My story 6 months in - input appreciated

Just to reconfirm, I have periods where I have absolutely no symptoms, which I guess means my misfiring nerves still have the ability to 'switch off'? I'm hoping this is a good thing and that as time goes on, my nerves will 'switch off' for increasing times and 'switch on' for decreasing times?

Re: My story 6 months in - input appreciated

Thanks webslave, good to hear that everything adds up. Unfortunately as I'm a pilot, I'm unable to take any centrally acting medication such as gabapentin or pregabalin, without losing my flying license and therefore almost certainly my career. Is there still a good chance of the nerves repairing th...

Re: My story 6 months in - input appreciated

I've used about 1.25 tubes over a period of about 7 months. There have been long periods in that time when I haven't used it. It definitely isn't the root cause of my pain and inflammation, my main symptoms really haven't changed over the 10 months regardless of whether I was using the steroid cream...

Re: My story 6 months in - input appreciated

I saw my PT yesterday evening and she was confused by my symptoms. After carrying out some research, she has forwarded me the following link about male genital dysaesthesia. She thinks it's possible that my overuse of cortisone cream could be causing inflammation which in turn is pressing on the dor...

Re: My story 6 months in - input appreciated

In the absence of any other pain symptoms relating to CPPS, for example perennial or rectal pain, is there any chance that my inflamed and painful penis head is some form of persistent balanitis that I should get a dermatologist to look at? As I said I've had swabs etc taken which have shown nothing...

Re: My story 6 months in - input appreciated

Thanks for the quick reply webslave. I've recently had bloods taken and there was no sign of diabetes, I only use warm water to wash my penis, and never use fabric softener. The pain and inflammation comes and goes. I guess that leaves nerve issues, such as allodynia which you previously mentioned. ...

Re: My story 6 months in - input appreciated

Thanks for the responses everybody. I'm trying not to visit the forum as often at the minute to try and take my mind away from the condition a bit. I'm continuing with PT, Q-Urol (just started) and mindfulness/relaxation and am going to continue to do so for a long time. I also recently returned to ...
