CPPS has really tested my stress levels.
CPPS is BECAUSE OF your stress levels.

Male Pelvic Pain Blog

Howdy, I hope it's alright that I post this here. I took part in a Male Pelvic Pain therapist's (my PT) blog, and wrote an entry for her based on questions she asked. I'm not trying to advertise for anyone here, just putting this out there to show that male pelvic pain seems to be gaining traction a...

Re: 6 years with CPPS

Looks like you haven't been to this post since summer, so hoping that's a good sign that you are feeling better and dealing with some things.

Re: 6 years with CPPS

European, I'd just like to reinforce what Carb is saying. Take some big steps back if you can, and look at your trajectory. You are in a cycle of trying to find some nebulous cause for your pain. I get that. We all understand that unrelenting desire to find the cause so we can nip it in the bud. How...

Also, heat is bad. Ice is best! Heat may help initially while applying the heating pad, but it will cause more pain afterward.
Ice may not feel warm and cozy while applying it, but it will really help better than heat in the long run.

Re: New Here - 6 Months of Prostatitis - Feel Hopeless

Hey man, OK, so zyflamend used to help me a little too. It's mostly turmeric. It's a natural anti inflammatory and helps blood vessels to open up which I believe is good for flushing out build up of inflammatories around the pain areas. Take two a day, one in morning, on at night. Or even just one a...

Re: New here - My Story, Desperate for Help.

Sounds like you're definitely improving! That's good news! It will keep improving too as you learn that flares and weird pains don't mean anything. You may still get some flares now and then, but the less attention you give them, the faster they'll stop. I like the advice of being consistent with st...

Re: 29 Year Old Terrified for His Future

Pizza, With all of your emotional trauma, I would be surprised if you DIDN'T develop CPPS. Accept that your body and mind are trying to tell you something. There are things you have to face and deal with. There are emotions your not letting yourself feel. I would recommend you seek out a GOOD psycho...

Re: Progress but improvement stalled

MCR, Chronic pain gets started from pain neurons being "on" too long. The pathways get worn in where they shouldn't be. It takes time and retraining. So, masturbating/orgasms at any point isn't going to cause death or any kind of damage. It's more a matter of comfort. If you flare up bad enough afte...

Re: Progress but improvement stalled

Definitely down-regulate the nervous system. It's key. The hardest part of this condition is that it's inherently set up like a see-saw. Stress/anxiety causes pain <> Pain causes stress/anxiety. In the beginning you MUST work on both simultaneously. Get the tightness under control and ease into some...

...which brings guilt into play. Or is takes place in a very new relationship, or short-lived relationship, and the incident is remembered as a possible cause of a subsequent but unrelated problem. Boom! Exactly. Guilt/fear/feelings of extreme inadequacy. Makes me wonder if there is some subliminal...

Re: Do I have CPPS? What Caused it?

I just want to enforce: It's ALL CPPS related! Chances are, things don't look that different that they did before. But because there's pain/discomfort, the mind becomes hyper-vigilant and starts to look for reasons or rationale for the discomfort. I believe it's more than an instinct, but more of an...

Re: My pelvic pain story

It's really interesting. You either figure it out, or you just keep hurting. Those who figure it out and have success are the ones who come to the conclusion that it's not caused by an infection, or something necessarily tangible, but by your own mind from super heavy stress, trauma, anxiety, depres...
