This is an interesting topic. Yes, I have certain straits similar to others on the forum although I would not call myself a perfectionist. Highly educated, impatient, anxious etc. My opinion is that there is something biochemically different in our nervous systems that makes us more prone to anxiety...

Scoobysnacks, I did not intimate that you had colitis but some colitis patients with CPPS had their pelvic pain improve from the steroids given to them for another problem(colitis). Didn't you say that the suppositories included lidocaine and cortisone?

This is an interesting topic and relates to my CPPS journey. I took Elavil early on the it helped relax my pelvic musculature but had bad side effects for me. They say to take it at night before bed. I woke up with vasoconstriction in my hands every nite so I couldn't take it anymore. I thought it d...

Just like yours from your description. Painful sitting, painful peeing, painful sex, no sleep, muscle spasms, lots of urological visits to five different uros, on and on. Like peeing broken glass but the worst was the fatigue, like having the flu all the time. Steroids helped in 2002.

feeling good

Well I have not posted a message in over a year but I still read the posts to offer empathy. Its now been five years since my CPPS got really bad but now I am thriving. I just stopped taking all meds including Flomax and am peeing great. Sex doesn't hurt but I still do stretching occasionally. I sti...

Wow, I never thought I would see the day. Even an anatomy session to show the muscles/nerves. This is incredible. And you can bring your partner to the lab for palpation. Thanks to all of us who have been pushing for such a change and to Dr. Wise for writing his book. Eureka!

update

Rhemium inspired me to send the forum an update. I used to read Rhemium's rants on the old Google forum, ahh those days of hell. Well I did the SP and attended about 30 sessions with my PT last year and am doing pretty well. I really don't think about it much day to day. I do sit on a donut to work ...

All good advise in my opinion. I also had a cystoscopy which showed nothing. If I didn't have direct bladder pain, that is right in the middle below your belly button and food sensitivities I would not have the rigid cystoscopy with distension. I read Dr. Moldin's book on IC and he is top notch but ...

No it doesn't hurt, the semen just goes into your bladder instead of coming out. It is a bit strange to orgasm and nothing comes out. If you stop the Flomax it returns to normal. I don't know if most men have this side effect but I would imagine that most have a decreased ejaculation volume. Most ol...

I have taken Flomax for four years and it has helped me. Without it I have a hard time starting to pee and I know I have retention without the Flomax. At first it made my sinuses stuffed up and gave me a headache but that went away with a few days. It does cause retrograde ejaculation which is a bit...

I am 55 and my CPPS got bad a age 51. I have had pelvic tension and some discomfort off and on since my 20s but it didn't really bother me much until age 51. I don't think it has much to do with age, more with stress. If you do the proper relaxation and stretches/PT you will probably get better no m...

I quit doing the SP since I feel pretty good now. I did the protocol for about six months and it worked pretty well. I only had the shaking in my pelvis a few times back when my condition was more acute. It has calmed down a lot for the last few years.

Yes, early on in my condition I had intense shaking in my pelvis and actually asked my doctor about it. He didn't say much. My whole body shook for a few minutes. I really freaked out at the time since I didn't know what to make of it. It stopped on its own. I wouldn't be too concerned about it. Its...

I have had pelvic discomfort of varying degrees since my twenties and I am now in my fifties, but the CPPS really got bad in 2001 and I was a mess for a few years. It has been now about four years and I am doing pretty well. I keep my expectations low but I do not obsess about it anymore, just deal ...

CppsDad's success story

Since I can't respond to CppsDad's success story under that section I would like to respond to him in the general discussion section. First, I am very aware of the helplessness you experienced for several years as I did. No one seemed to have any idea what was going on. I dreamed about having a rela...
