Hello ML6, I looked for a PT to work on my pelvis in San Diego for over a year. The only one I found was in San Clemente and I went to her for about 30 sessions with good results. She is very knowledgeable. Her name is Chrissie Morgan and she works at Body Awareness PT. The number is 949-366-3362. I...

Interesting you bring up sacral nerve stimulation. The first uro I went to see in 2001 tried to get me to implant this device in my back but I refused. Glad I did. From the article it seems to help for urgency/frequency which I never suffered with.

Glad you are feeling a bit better. My story is a bit of the flip side to yours and it relates to, I feel, most of the members of the forum here. When I was at my worst and desperate, I saw Dr. Parsons at UCSD in San Diego. I took Elmiron, Atarax, and Flomax for over three years. I also had the bladd...

Getting through stressful periods for us CPPSers is challenging. I would not abandon your current plans but you can definitely do a few treatments for yourself to help the pain. When I am going to much I have to force myself to take 40 minutes a day to listen to a relaxation CD. I have Dr. Wise's ta...

David, sorry to hear of your travails. We all understand the doctor merry go round and the resulting frustration. You said that your son has tried PT but you did not mention if he did the internal trigger point massage. I tried PT several times before I found a really good therapist that did the int...

I've been sitting on a donut at the office and a wedge with a hole in the back portion while driving for over four years now. Both really help. I sit on these by instinct now and really don't think about it much. I also have heated seats in my car and when my butt hurts I just flip on the heat and I...

All interesting posts for sure. Regarding the timeline, I started keeping a pain diary about 8 months into my CPPS so I could reflect back and see some improvement. The diary is over 4 years old and ongoing. Your estimate of about three years to really see significant improvement was accurate for me...

Absolutely Lightning Tree, I agree. By the way, I have been trying the Pigeon Pose and it works. It is pretty hard for me to do it like the pictures since I can't extend my back leg all the way back but it does alleviate the pain on my left buttock. I added it to my regimen. Thanks.

For me personally, its built into my nervous system. I have always been very sensitive to stress. That is not something I am going to change. My basic body chemistry is built into the genes. My pelvis hurts everyday and has most of my life but I can manage my condition through relaxation and stretch...

Recently I played golf with a doctor who had retired but was asked to join a family practice since he had so much experience. I told him about my CPPS and he said that he had treated many patients who exhibited pain in the rectal/pelvic area. Generally he said that the pain often resolved after his ...

Flump, great you are on the right track. I had a very hard time finding the right PT. You have to find one that does the internal massage, external massage may help but not directly with the trigger points. I had to call around to women's clinics who treat female pelvic pain. I then asked them if th...

I don't what part of the world you are located but if I was you I would find a PT to do internal pelvic massage. I went to my PT about 30 times and it really helped although it took a several months. Have you tried to contact a PT close to you? You are on the right track. You are lucky, it took me s...

Me too, it took about twenty minutes to set up and the procedure was done in about three minutes. I had driven 100 miles to see my uro so I had no choice but to drive home. It was easier than I had planned. It burned for a day or so and I actually felt better after they did it.

I read this whole thread with much interest. I was in the CPPS mess back in 2001 and it was a nightmare. Between the opinions of five urologists and countless prescriptions I was totally confused so I understand how upsetting it can be. Back in 2001 we didn't have much to go on and now the situation...

My first PT had me doing kegels which did nothing for me. The best method I have found is the Stanford/Wise-Anderson Protocol. I would buy Headache in the Pelvis and read it. It will give you specific stretches that are very helpful. I do stretching everyday with good results.
