Re: Bowling?

I play golf twice a week. Sometimes my pelvis acted up but I just go home after the round and sit in my jacuzzi and stretch. Its all a matter of managing our CPPS condition. I wouldn't give up an activity you enjoy because I was scared of it. Remember, this condition responds to our therapies so I d...

I have accepted this condition as part of me, really. Like others on the forum, when it doesn't hurt I don't think about it much. Actually, when it hurts moderately, I don't think about it much. Its only when it really hurts and I have to lie down for awhile or sleep that I get bummed out about it. ...

When I was at my worst alcohol was completely forbidden, instant prostate pain but once I got better alcohol seems to help. I have a martini when I get home and enjoy it. I really appreciate my one drink since a few years ago I couldn't drink at all. Funny how this condition brings things into persp...

Four times in one nite will definitely rev up the pelvis. That's too much even for me in my prime. If I orgasm twice in a short period I can be in for a long nite of pain. Hot baths is the way to go and relax, it will get better. I know, when the pain is really bad it feels like it will never go awa...

If you can drive to San Clemente there is a very good PT that I went to many times. Her name is Chrissie Morgan at Body Awareness. She is top notch and has treated male CPPS successfully.

Interesting posts concerning Dr. Z. I went to him in 2002 and I was one of the hardcore cases he couldn't solve. I wondered at the time why he had this perplexed look on his face when he walked into the room to see me. He did a very hard prostate massage and a cystoscopy on me. Found nothing. He gav...

Rhemium, so nice to hear from you. I am also one of the "old schoolers". Back in the google site days when the Miami protocol(sit in a hot bucket of water for 30 minutes) was all we had. I am also about 80% and can live with it. I am also full strength, playing golf twice a week and really don't hav...

Garyholc, I just wanted to reassure you that the relaxation, stretching, PT and Prosta-Q protocols worked quite effectively for me. You are very lucky to have so much information available to you. Back in 2001 when my CPPS started there was very little information which made it so much harder. Your ...

All good advise. I had a similar situation early on when my CPPS was really bad. It was so distressing that I hated to go to bed. I was edgy all nite back then and lost a lot of weight due to lost of sleep. With what I know today I would try a few different stretches prior to going to bed to see if ...

When I was at my worst I literally ran for the jacuzzi. I still do it daily. Sometimes I can bring down the pain by more than 50% with twenty minutes in the tub and stretching.

I went to a shrink several times and they were a bust. They tried to give me zoloft etc. and I couldn't take the side effects. They have become prescription writers and that's about it. They just give you one drug and if that doesn't work they try another. I had much better success with a psychologi...

Very interesting thread. This is wonderful compared to where we were five years ago. We are so much more aware of the factors contributing to CPPS. I applaud you all. I wanted to add that a few years ago I played golf with a doctor who said he sees a lot of people with pelvic pain. He has noticed th...

I attended Dr. Wise's SP group in 2004. Tim gave me his card. The phone number was 408-237-7365 back then, maybe its the same now. His office is in Los Gatos under Sawyer Physical Therapy. Good luck.

Article in Best Life

Congratulations to Webslave and Dr. Wise for the excellent article in this month's Best Life. This is a new magazine concentrating on men's health and the article describes the most recent advances in CPPS. I did notice that they still call it prostatitis and also included the continued ignorance of...
