Re: How to explain to people...

Well for an elevator pitch I use something like: All day long pain and sensory disturbances along the path of the Pudendal nerve. Originating at the sacrum, it impacts back to front in the pelvis (accompanied with a swift look down when talking to a guy). Sitting is very hard. Doctors not sure how t...

Re: How many people here had Panic Attacks before CPPS?

Nope, no anxiety upfront here. For me it was very binary. No probs -> Bam -> Pain and then anxiety. As soon as the painlevels dropped below approx. 3 on a 10 scale the anxiety was also gone. For me it was definitely related to the severity of the symptoms.

Update my story

Going steady... Still off meds. I think 85% better then onset symptoms. Penile/Urethra pain/irritation/pressure still there at 2/10 intensity during daytime, very exhausting. Light fasciculations in random muscles in the pelvis and buttocks at times and painful left buttock, central sacrum. Still so...

Re: My story...... Need help

Ok good to have the anesthesia, I was somewhat tensed also and had only the numbing gel. So the scope didn't go in very smoothly. The urologist made the remark he always wins and pushed the bloody thing further inside. Nasty experience. Nothing remarkable found though. I had a PT session friday who ...

Re: Some questions regarding CPPS symptoms

Small update: No more med's at this time. Sitting is still a little painful, the penile sensations are somewhat better to handle. No other symptoms left. Interesting session at the PT today, I volunteered for the introduction training for a new Biofeedback device. It measures four quadrants on 6 dep...

Re: My story...... Need help

Well good luck, let's hope you will get something positive out of this. It's hard to deal with this condition. My symptoms are still the same even though most of the pelvic muscle tension is gone now. Tomorrow I will go to the PT to test a new biofeedback device. It measures the tension of most pelv...

Re: My story...... Need help

Yes for pain relief, it does work, but doesn't give the 100% numbness/relief like lidocaine or the stuff they use for a cystoscopy. I don't know if I would recommend it at this time. It will take the edge off, but for me that's not enough. The penile pain/tingling MUST go. The Dr. had the creams at ...

Re: My story...... Need help

Well I had the meeting with Prof. Waldinger today, I suspect that he would state that there is no such thing as CPPS as a root cause when asked. It's all Pudendal Neuralgia/Neuropathy in his view, which might cause tight muscles etc (chicken and egg discussion I think). The irritation in the penis t...

Re: My story...... Need help

Hi Ceader, for me it's only in the toolbox. But for sure related to CPPS. Before that I didn't have these issues. The only remedy for me at this time is: time. Every week it's a little less than the week before. I think/hope related to muscle tension in the pelvis. But thinking of it, I'm also very ...

Re: My story...... Need help

Hi Smackman, I think I might have the same issue, (I'm circumsized) next to the raw sensitive feeling I have got a tingling (like low electrical current) feeling around the frenulum but not on the surface. It was very intense when my other CPPS symptoms were at their peak from onset in October to De...

Re: Some questions regarding CPPS symptoms

Had a dynamic ultrasound today of the whole pelvic area and abdomen. This was very helpful, I could see which muscles were weak and didn't (swiftly) respond when I wanted to relax them and which where ok. Also I turned out to have a diastasis recti of 1,5 Inch wide (no bulging). The PT said this wou...

Re: Some questions regarding CPPS symptoms

Hi Ceadar, No, but I must say that the pain has been slowly reducing over the last few weeks due to the PT stretching of the Pelvic floor muscles and doing the home exercises. It's perhaps a 2/10 now. So for now I will keep this in mind. Did you have any allergies upfront? I don't have any (I think)...

Re: Some questions regarding CPPS symptoms

Ceader, I did a very thorough assessment of the ischiocavernosus but no TP's there. There is a distinct connection with my penile pain and the fullness of my bladder. When it's empty, pain is considerably lower. So it seems to be more an internal muscle tension or TP related issue. PT was again very...

Re: Some questions regarding CPPS symptoms

Ceader, thanks for the response. So far I didn't assess them thoroughly, will try it tomorrow. Did a quick scan earlier this week in that region, but didn't find any tp's then. I will also look into the Superficial transverse perineal muscle.

Re: Some questions regarding CPPS symptoms

Webslave, yes I think the anxiety is a major factor for me in this, so I am now looking into this with my GP to find the best therapie and med's. Perhaps the Mindfulness, NLP or ACT. Its largely fueled by the occasional feelings of arousal during the day in the penile tip and therefore the stress ab...
