Re: 6 years with CPPS

Maybe it is time for small update in my odyssey with CPPS. Second half of the year 2016 was neither great not completely miserable, better days were interchanging with worse. In the New Year time I had a short but intensive flare-up lasting cca 10 days. Then very good 2 months with some bearable pai...

Re: Tramadol 100mg ER

I would recommend to use Tramadol ocassionally, not every day. I tried Tramadol several times, it somehow decreased the pain for several hours bit I have always pretty severe insomnia (2-3 hours sleep in whole night if I take Tramadol late afternoon/evening) and the next day the whole inferno repeat...

Re: Mystery of ejaculation pain

I agree that this devastating post-ejaculatory pain is a mixture from neuromuscular (ejaculation triggers painful sites in bulbocavernosus, ischiocavernosus and other muscles) and psychological (anxiety related issues) factors. My pain also started as a severe post-ejaculatory pain after vigorous se...

Re: My CPPS Stories and Experience’s

I agree with webslave, try to concentrate to PT and relaxation. The battery of pills is obviously useless , there might be even some erratic contraindications etc. I know how desperate you can be, but the clear mind is essential. In cca 2012/13 I had 3 or 4 steroid shots into my pubic area made by m...

Re: Pain locations/symptoms

I think there is some predisposition regarding "weak" points which are individual. Then the combination of nerve crosstalk and other factors re-creates a unique combination of pain pattern. I do recognize the huge role of psychological factors in CPPS (especially depression related, catastrophising ...

Re: Anyone being helped by neurostimulation

Neurostimulation and ECSW (extracorporeal shocking wave) are different things. I only tried ECSW which inflicted heavy flare-up, so I dont recommend it. I am having few better days this week, so I am enjoying the reading, watching tennis in TV etc. Hope that it will last longer.

Re: My CPPS Stories and Experience’s

Hallo Chriss, I re-read thoroughly your story, there is a lot of similarities in my case (as well as in many other cases of co-sufferers). My case also started 7 years ago with prolonged sex/masturbation with a lot of clenching/edging etc...I have had very good September/October but since New Year I...

Re: Heal Pelvic Pain book

I have read the book some years ago. It is good from solely PT point of view, but AHIP is much more complex especially from the holistic point of view. Reading AHIP means reading the text from somebody who knows all the avenues of CPPS, reading Heal the pelvic pain means you have good overview of ph...

Re: Male Pelvic Pain: Beyond Urology

"pelvic floor muscle dysfunction, Myofascial pain syndromes, Functional Somatic Syndrome/Central Sensitization Syndromes and/or psychosocial distress" - these are the key components of our suffering. I gave up visits to two of my urologists who were completely laymen in these areas...My PT is much b...

Re: Complete randomness of pelvic pain?

I agree with the assumption that psychological aspects, especially anxiety/depression related elements play huge role in the struggling with CPPS. The longer you are struggling with CPPS the more the psychological components might become dominant or being a sole driver in this difficult road. But - ...

Re: My story - support/advice appreciated

Post ejaculation pain is one of the worst hallmarks of CPPS and this is also the way how my problems started. It is very difficult to stay relaxed during orgasm and it is difficult to "re-programme" mind and body in this direction. Ejaculation induces major spasms of pubococcygeus and ischiocavernos...

Re: Dry Needling

I tried Dry needling 3 times in the past and considering next session in November. I have got a feeling that initial two sessions lightly helped (effect was apparent after 3-4 days), but the last one seemed to worsen things. I think that my most prominent trigger points are in the pubococcygeus/leva...

Re: Starting pelvic treatment after 4 and a half years

Carbonevo you are basically right that psychological background/anxiety is playing one of the prime roles in this havoc, I agree with you. The initial onset was inflicted by muscular injury/spasm and all this psychological vicious circle of depression/anxiety/catastrophic thinking did not enable the...

Re: Starting pelvic treatment after 4 and a half years

Yes of course, last 3 years I am doing intrarectal PT approximately once in a month. It helped a lot but did not eradicate flare-ups completely. Overall I am doing better but I am far from being cured. My most stubborn trigger points are probably in anterior pelvis, somewhere near pubbococcyges, bul...
