GP2, I know exactly what you mean. Flare ups can really test you in a lot of ways. This is exactly where the Byron Katie work shows incredible promise. About 5 months ago I felt a flare up for a few days. At this time I had an incredible break through doing the Byron Katie work (called Enquiry). Thr...

Unsolicited Advice from NoMoPain

Hello everyone, Life is still treating me pretty good these days. Many already know my story but for those who don't here it is in a nutshell: History: Bad pain for over a decade, not just pelvic but low back, heartburn, depression, anxiety and even considered suicide. Life these days over the last ...

Greg, I would say yes to your question. As most of us on this site now know, Depression and Anxiety not only will tend to make the pain worse, but can double our suffering. The mind tries to trick us into thinking things are hopeless and there is plenty to be scared of. For me a big part of the ment...

Hi GP2, Life has been very good to me for a while now. The last 9 months I have been virtually symptom free. I cannot claim to be 100% yet but I would say about 95% of the time I feel 100%. I am still working at my recovery though and am finding that I have to work just as hard on the mental part as...

Could this supplement actually help us ?

Hi Everyone, I am always interested in supplements that could offer some potential for helping out with recovering from trigger points. I have found several good supplements to help reduce stress such as L-theanine, GABA, and St.Johns wort. Of course by reducing stress and relaxing more we are havin...

I just wanted to clarify that in my message below I meant "Mindfulness Meditation" (forgot to put the "t" in the word meditation.

Also, for the cognitive therapy component I use the Byron Katie method as Dr Wise recommends in his book.

Take Care and Relax as much as you can !!

A Word of Hope

Hello Everyone, I have been working at my recovery now for just over 2 years. I am about 80% to 90% recovered now. Before I started my recovery I suffered for well over a decade. The main point of my message is to give hope to all that are currently suffering. I want to emphasize that according to m...

Treyor, I would highly recommend you check out the Byron katie website and read through the testimonials section. This is a very radical, simple, but highly effective form of cognitive therapy -- this form of cognitive therapy is the one that Dr Wise recommends in his book. I can tell you my own exp...

Right on about good vacations !! My wife and I went to Jamaica last summer and in one week I felt like my body and mind made tremendous gains in healing. I still try to keep that Jamaican attitude of relaxing and taking it easy. The Jamaican guys told me that they see many very uptight americans and...

I think if we all had the same attitude and belief structure as Byron Katie we would all become eventually 100% free of suffering or 100% symtpom free or both. Why in the world would that happen you ask ? The answer is because we would be virtually stress-free, depression free, and at peace. I admit...

Pelican, Clearly you are in a very stressed out state of mind and it is manifesting in your body in the form of increased symptoms. The question then is what can you do to reduce the stress that your mind is causing and then your body and mind should feel some improvement -- there is plenty. I think...

I would suggest checking out the website as there is a section that explains the process (http://www.thework.org). One concrete example I think that could be helpful to pelvic pain sufferers is the following belief\thought: "I will always be in pain" What the Byron Katie work would do is put this th...

Make sure you don't do any situps or any type of excercise that more than very mildly contracts your abdominal muscles -- this includes some yoga excercises. Using the Theracane and doing skin rolling on the stomach are the way to go along with abdominal breathing. Glad to hear you are on to the sol...

Four paragraphs below is a post I saw on the Byron Katie website. For those of you not familiar with Byron Katie basically it is just a very simple, extremely radical, but highly effective form of cognitive therapy that one can do alone, much like a form of meditation. This form of Cognitive Therapy...

What would we be like without stress and depression ?

You are probably wondering what this subject title means. I am convinced without a doubt that the primary cause of the problems we have experienced is due to stress and depression. Note I said the primary cause, not the only cause (I believe physical factors can cause symptoms also). I am not saying...
