Re: How do you lift your pelvic floor ?

go take a Piss, now stop in mid stream, that contraction you need to do is lifting up the pelvic floor, unfortunately for me and many of us that contracted state is how our pelvis gets stuck. I know mine was and very tightly so, now I can get it down, but after all day it goes back up, then I releas...

Re: Why do Some Improve and Others Don't ?

I work at it and work at my recovery sometimes to a fault I think. But, I am very diligent and analyze my pain, my symptoms, think about the muscles how they behave etc, etc. I practice relaxation, stretching, eating right, exercise and just generally try to have a fun life. I am not 100%, but damni...

Re: Do internal tools need a flared base?

I'm bumping this because I finally ordered the 7" purple one and it helps a TON. Not crazy about the idea of it, but hey, no shame in getting better. It does work well mainly because it allows me to completely relax and still hit the trigger point, whereas before to get the ones pretty darn far up i...

Re: Cannot sleep

Do you do any form of exercise on a regular basis? I found that when I wasn't exercising during the first 6 months of this I had trouble falling asleep, now I turn out the lights and I'm out.

Re: cp pain goes when i get another illness

Could it also be 1) you are home in bed relaxed and 2) your mind is more focused on the flu symptoms rather than pelvic pain? I'm not a doctor so I can't comment on nerve issues or immunity issues.

Re: Testicle pain, Urinalysis normal

Bro, at my worst my left testicle hurt like a bitch. Couldn't explain it, as the muscles have eased up and relaxed over time, that symptom left me, but it was one of many when I was at my worst. It's gone now, practice what is preached here, learn, read and apply; have to find what works for you, an...

Re: Do any of you do YOGA?/

I think I would enjoy Bikram I love the gym hotter than hell when i workout. One day the thermostat was broke, it was about 79 in there and everyone was bitching, I loved it. I have done some yoga at home, but never instructor led. I think its worth a try for any of us if you have access to it. I cu...

Re: Percussion Massager

I second Webslaves response to you. Need to get inside there on the perineum side and work around the area. I actually used to be able to get the same type of band twinge feeling when applying pressure to that area. Also if I dropped my leg on a bed it felt like a rubber band was being plucked on th...

It worked for me when I was really inflamed. Luckily, I weaned off it and dont need it anymore. But, if really in some inflamed pain I recommend it.

Re: My Competition photos

yes, but a warm up is only 5 minutes of either the bike or doing some pushups/jump jacks and a few stretches. Always weight train first then cardio. Weight training requires a lot of glycogen and will deplete liver stores, once those are gone, then do cardio, you are more apt to run on fat as fuels....

Re: To Kegel or not to Kegel

I did them at the beginning and it made things worse, but my internal work was way midguided. I wonder if they would help now that I am hitting the right areas? I know after I lift the muscles release for a bit, but then tend to tighten up a bit until I do some stretching and release. I clench when ...

Re: Trouble Reaching Trigger Points

MattK I love the enthusiasm, but I think anytime you inflict bleeding on yourself you have pushed to hard, Tim never caused bleeding on me, and neither have I. Even a bruise would be pushing to hard, we are trying to relax the muscle not cause trauma. The pressure we supply should be enough to cause...

Re: My Competition photos

Inflamed, Here is what I recommend, do your light weights first with little rest, this will help deplete glycogen, and then when you run you will be more apt to use fat as fuel. You will tighten up. Yes, you need some extra protein if you lift. I recommend a balanced diet for your goals. Lets say yo...

Re: Are you familiar with these books

Yes, the middle one is what was used by the PTs at the SP Clinic. Its not a focus on pelvic pain, but there is a chapter in there on it. Its focuses on the whole body, but teaches how to do TP treatment. I have a copy.
