Re: Bowling?

Yeah man, if you like to bowl, then bowl, the protocols are more of a coping device for me, I do EVERYTHING I pretty much want.

Re: Hesitancy Issue

Hey man this was my worst symptom. EVERY TIME I tried to piss it would clamp down or spasm hard much like an orgasm spasm, I could feel the urine back up, then it would come out. The ONLY thing that helped was getting internal work done. The main trigger point for this symptom seems to be around the...

Re: Doing proper internal PT...the fine line?

the bands near the tailbone are the type that I've found most recently, it wasn't something I could get with my finger. I now use a tool and it helps much more, but I have these bands too, and yes I use the strum and stroke method, Tim Sawyer was a proponent of this. I find like you, sometimes more ...

Re: To date or not to date...that is the question

I hate this condition, but man, you can't let it limit you like that. Not date, no way. I met my wife while I had this at its worst. It helped having her to distract me. And I didn't tell her about it until maybe 3 mos in, until then I just referred to some sitting pain that I get from time to time....

Re: Sneezing

When sneezing your upper diaphram (under lungs) and lower diaphram (pelvic floor muscles) and abs involuntary contract and spasm. In the lower case it is in response to pressure and to close the sphincters and retain fluids etc. Women with weakness and retention problems will leak and have accident...

Re: Is PT necessary?

In my case yes, I have had internal and work on the abs, ALL of it together contributed to where I am today as far as healing and taking baby steps. Now I'm finding back trigger points in my back seem to have perpetuated the ones in my abs. So now I work internal, my abs and my spinal erectors with ...

Re: Giving Up Exercising

I also started hitting the gym VERY hard back in August, so hard that I competed in two bodybuilding shows, so you know my intensity was up. I've CONTINUED to progress to the point that symptoms are less of the norm and a normal urinary flow for much of the day is the norm. I hope to continue, I thi...

Re: The exercise question again...

Interesting, I know when I start lifting a large part of any inflammation goes away and is usually less so the rest of the night, I always attributed to loosening up.....hmmmmm....however, it does sometimes create tenser muscles....

Re: biofeedback - reducing sphincter pressure

This was the first thing administered on me. It wasn't helpful, as Dr Wise has stated, usually the sphincter is tight from Trps deep in the tissue. Actually the first time I did this with a PT it helped, but once I started doing it at home it made it worse.....you don't want to be tensing already ch...

Re: Caffeine and HPA axis

Yeah at my worst it was as real agitator. Now, not so much. I see no difference and I drink green tea and coffee all day long and take a supplement with it it in before I work out. But, I'm an old hat at this stuff now...lol.

Re: The exercise question again...

I'm no different when I dont exercise which for me is heavy lifting. I quit for two years, and you know what I did, obsess about this damn condition and didn't get better anyways. And I was depressed because I was out of shape, to me. My definition is different though than many people. I choose to e...

Re: Enough $$$ for Stanford/Wise-Anderson Protocol?

I am fortunate that my career afforded me the opportunity to go, plus my wife being an engineer has a good job as well. However, I think if you need to get there, a credit card for at least half might be an option, you could then pay it down in installments. If you start saving today, you could have...

Re: Supplements to try

I love Phenibut, most like Ativan that I've tried. And its OTC. I take 1 tsp EVERY night after work. I have found taken that way the effects do not wear off.....I love this stuff and when I dont take it, I have no withdrawal issues. I really can't find any negative reviews or research or toxicity on...

Re: End of my rope, life on a couch

In a serious case like yours, you should make every possible effort to see the very best team — and that means Stanford. YES! I saw them and it was the best 5K I've ever spent. I am empowered now to treat myself and I continue to progress.... Get to California ASAP. But, please do not give up.....y...
