I've had a bit of a huge breakthru... I have been on antidepressants (st johns wort now, for nearly a month) with good, but - atypically - very inconsistent results. Then I learned my fatigue, hypersomnia, "spaciness," and often extreme malaise (getting worse and worse depite the continual decrease ...

I've had it from the beginning, 6 months ago, if you dont count the initial attack (1 week of frequency, bladder pain, followed by a week of perfect health). Despite a great reduction sharp CPP pains, I've been dealing with increasing depression and fatigue for about 2 months now, and my muslce/join...

My Uro also told me to [...] increase ejaculation. The consensus around here seems to be that this advice is not always right... that an increase in ejac frequency may be theraputic in some cases, counter-theraputic in others... that people need to experiement to find out what suits them individual...

I am not nearly knowledgable enough to say anything remotely definite about the cause of your symptoms. I can say they could reflect noninfectious "prostatitis," and that does make a difference to how you might proceed. This is not medical advice and I am no doctor, but I'll tell you what I would do...

I used to have plenty of the tissue/nerve kind(s) of pain, but those seem to have succumbed to 5 months of Prostaprotek and focused relaxation. So these days joint pain and muscle (& tendon?) pain/tightness predominate. It's all right around the pelvis tho, from hi thigh to low back. I can't shake it.

Can you cite the page? I havent seen anything suggesting GABA supplements produce dependency. Not that I've studied GABA exhaustively, but i've seen some good, thorough sources like the one below, which mentions the lack of safety research, but makes no mention of addiction. http://www.wholehealthmd...

An aside - can you tell me how long your wait will be before being seen at stanford? I might be trying to head to their clinic myself.

I really hope you can find someone in australia, but maybe you will need to think about moving to the u.s. or scotland for a while. I myself am probably going to have to relocate 500 to 3000 miles away; fortunately I am a kid (23) with no ties.

My 'strings are ok, but my inside-of-high-thigh muscles (the ones you stretch doing the splits) have become really screwed up, tight all the time in spite of stretching (i even managed to pull/strain the left one, whoops). Not only that, they sometimes feel really weird, as tho made of dry-rotting r...

Mine started in late November. In winter I have way more trouble staying warm than anyone I've ever known. (I even suspected hypothyroidism, but my TSH is ok even my the most stringent standards.)

Well I guess I understand after all, since the strongest evidence in favor of PFD therapy is still (unless I'm mistaken) the uncontrolled experience of the clinic at Stanford. Hopefully the inevitable controlled study will be undertaken by someone before too long.

I vaguely reckoned that there was an explanation of that kind, but I'm still very surprised, given what he was discussing, that he didn't work in one single parenthetical or passing allusion to PFD - since you'd think he would feel it's sort of a public health emergency that most uro's (and of cours...

Maybe I'm missing something, but I'm absolutely baffled that Anderson, co-author of AHIP, gets in front of a large group of uro's for a quick talk about new work in IC and CPPS pathogenesis and therapy - and doesnt mention PFD? Did I recently slip into a parallel dimension or something?

However, it only takes a long time to get rid of all your symptoms, you will start getting benefits from the advice/treatment protocols given on this forum and Marks site pretty quickly. From my first PT session (with a trained myofascial release physio) I had my pain reduce by about 20%. I've hear...
