 Thanks Mark for your reply, but what about the yellow semen and cloudy urine, I mean very cloudy, when it settles in a glass it is like half a inch tick on the bottom of the glass, looks like small bits of dead skin. Would this not suggest a major infection. I do know that this problem starte...

I've considered trying Buspar. How long were you on it, and did it help with anxiety?

Allegra

I'm now on 180mg of Allegra daily for allergies. I must say that it is much friendlier to my prostate than most OTC antihistamines! However, I have noticed a slight increase in frequency and perineal discomfort since starting it.

this morning I saw my uro. He had me stop the Flomax and is starting ditropan-xl. He also ordered a urine cytology, CT scan with and without contrast and a cystoscopy. My previous urine residual was 150 cc one time and 0 cc at another visit. Ditropan is a medication for overactive bladders. If he's...

Re: Insomnia

This is my biggest problem right now. Even if my discomfort is only mild, I find because my mind is focusing on it, it still interupts my sleep. It usually takes me hours to get off to sleep and it's frequently disturbed. Not necessarily to go to the bathroom, I just wake up for no reason. This pre...

MastCells: Whilst reading up about Remerol (another newish antidepressant) I noticed that there is experimental evidence that both Effexor and Remerol can desensitize the brain to stress. Which is nice. Richard, if you read about this effect of venlafaxine on the web or medline, could you post or e...

Re: Is a lot of it in our minds?

Could a lot of this be in our heads? My sister is a psychologist and researcher, and she tries to convince me that all of my CP/IC symptoms are "in my head." She was also against my taking Effexor XR and Ativan for anxiety (the drugs that make my life bearable); she thinks cognitive behavioral ther...

Re: suggestions

The Flomax has caused retrograde ejaculation and hasn't really helped with the symptoms. If you've been on those treatments for months without any noticeable improvement, I'd ask your uro about moving on to other treatments. There are so many to try! The uro has mentioned cystoscopy and CT scan. A ...

Btw, I'm a health research professional who's been on benzo's for about a year now on the same dose and I've found them extremely beneficial. In fact they are about the only med that's helped me to any degree with the anxiety related to my CPPS. I can go off and on as I please, and even triple the ...

Actually, Clonezepam is the most potent of the Benzo's. .5mg is actually quite potent (I forget the exact numbers, but .5 mg of this is as strong as a high dose of Valium). According to the Clinical Handbook of Psychotropic Drugs, .5 mg of clonazepam is equivalent to 10 mg of Valium, 1 mg of Xanax,...
