I always have increased sitting pain after ejaculation- quite simply ejaculation causes the contraction of many of the muscles of pelvic floor with close to 10 times the force required for defecation (this figure was quoted to me by a PT well versed in SP), so if your muscles are tight, you have tri...

Itchy skin can be the result of neurological problems which stem from CPPS. It is surprising to think nerves can effect your skin, but it does (Shingles, stress-->acne) By problems, I don't necessarily mean anything more serious than what most CPPS sufferers deal with neurologically- nerves that are...

Stretching immiedatly afterwards- squats, and splits
Taking a hot shower or hot bath

watch your back (literally)

I have been doing SP stretches for nearly two years. One of my biggest breakthroughs with these stretches came last month when I realized how badly I was tensing my lower back (lumbar area) muscles while stretching. I think it has to do with our natural tendency, when stretching, to try and 'reach f...

As far as I know it can be a sign of inflammation not just infection, as well as being totally non-pathogenic, as in no known cause- do a search on this board you will find this has been answered pleny of times.

penile pain after ejaculation...

So, After about two years of relaxing, stretching, and now psychotherapy I have really made great strides in a lot of ways. Almost all of my symptoms, if not better, have at least become manageable- I know what to do to make them feel better. But, one symptom which has always dogged me, and perhaps ...

When it was happening I tested it like 20 times a day and every time it would happen, so it's not a coincidence. Though I don't have the exact same problem, when I read this it really struck a chord with me. Whenever I am in pain, whether CPPS, or just a sore throat/ankle/whatever- I find that I te...

from my anecdotal experience (not a doctor) you shouldn't be worried that this sort of spasm is a sign of such things- personally I know the main cause of my CPPS is undue anxiety about pretty much everything- you might want to take your concerns about incontinency/sexual dysfunction as a sign in an...

I used to have this 'snap back' type feeling a lot, both waking me at night and right when I got up in the morning- in fact I used to get it at even on the point upon waking up from a nap. The tightening, spasm feeling, was always complemented by a quick nerve type shooting pain that would shoot thr...

I discussed Sarno's theories with my psychotherapist, who had not heard of Sarno, but agrees with his premise wholly. As for anecdotal experience, I can say I have improved (physically as well as mentally) quite a bit after two months of psychotherapy, most of which is concentrated not specifically ...

I have found the same thing- my CPPS is worse when I am sick, I wouldn't exactly call it stiffness- but my body/joints always ache when I am sick, like most people, so I suppose this just magnifies the CPPS pain though I don't understand the exact mechanism, it seems logical.

Valium works well for muscle/tension related CPPS pain but can have some pretty significant cognitive effects along with other side effects- using Valium (1mg) during the daytime I became significantly groggy, tired and generally my thoughts were more clouded. Aleve (naproxen), on the other hand, is...

I had the exact same concern- or more so, how can even just talking to anyone about something solve a medical/physical problem. The point is that a professional is trained, unlike your girlfriend, to ask the right questions and help guide you in the right directions and steer you away from dead ends...

I will second that, to BG and anyone else who is considering expanding their treatment to include a psychotherapist. I started seeing a professional about a month ago, and not only has my CPPS improved, my overall mindset--both towards pain in general, and my own life-- has vastly improved. The real...

I have found it is easier to relax my lower back muscles and abs (the muscle groups which I used to tense really bad during urination) while sitting and leaning a bit forward (fore arms on my thighs). The big thing for me has been training my self not to seize up right when I finish urinating, it is...
