A new symptom--diagnostically relevant?

Hi everyone, I'm curious if anyone has any insight into this. Last night, after ejaculating, I went to urinate (typically I don't, just fall asleep, but this time I felt a need). While urinating is always painful for me, I don't typically have problems starting, or flow issues. But this time, coming...

Re: Menthol cream

Yep, a week after I started doing it and it still is the best relief I've ever had. It's temporary, but strong. At the very least, it repairs my despair and lets me focus on work rather than pain.

Re: Question about trigger points

I'm still wondering if anyone else can answer this for me. My therapist has found points on my levator ani that are extremely sore when pressed, but only at the points themselves... not where I ordinarily feel pain. It's like, I have pain in A, and typically feel normal in B. When you press B, B hur...

Re: Menthol cream

Don't worry. I'm in internal PT with a pelvic-pain specialist, and I use an internal vibrating massager. I'm on Valium and gabalpentin. I do 30 minutes of stretching daily. I see a urologist who is familiar with Wise-Anderson as well as my therapist. I'm also probably adding a Valium suppository and...

Menthol cream

Hi everyone, Through random experimentation, I found a way to knock my penile-pain symptoms down 50% for a couple of hours: rubbing basic pain-relief cream (IcyHot, Bengay, etc.) on my perineum. I hypothesize that it serves as a low-grade mid-pudendal nerve block; or maybe the menthol sensation just...

Re: Rectal Valium Suppository or Gel-Muscle Relaxant

I'm about to begin using a diazepam suppository as the oral version has not given me tremendous benefit. My PT thinks that applying the suppository closer to my levator-ani trigger points could be of significant help.

I'll keep you all posted.

Re: summary of tools/meds to deal with painful ejaculation

My PT, a certified pelvic-pain specialist, actually recommends regular ejaculation. She says that the flow of blood to the region is a positive.

(note: I have during-ejaculation pain with intermittent intensity.)

Vibrating rectal/LA massage

Hey all, My therapist gave me what she called a medical device--it looks like a sex toy, but it seems to work! It's a flexible rectal-insert vibrating massager. I've been doing levator ani massages with it and it actually has produced instant, marked improvement when I have a nasty flare in penis-sh...

Re: Question about trigger points

But if it's a trigger point, should I or should I not be feeling pain at said remote location when the point is pressed?

Question about trigger points

So over the course of my treatment, my therapist has identified something like a half dozen trigger points on my levator ani, especially one thick one in particular that causes screaming pain. Just one thing: the pain is WHERE my therapist presses, and does not actually increase the pain where I gen...

Re: Diastat Rectal Gel (valium)

I'm gravedigging this topic instead of creating a new one because my therapist told me that I should consider using rectal Valium by crushing my pills and putting them in a syringe with olive oil and using that rectally. Seemed like a lot of trouble, and after a quick read... voila, there's already ...

Re: NO frequency issues?

I've had one internal session, but my PT was unable to find any particular points of interest. She then said that we should work on relaxing the exterior first before going back interior. She's a very busy person and it's difficult to get times with her without booking them well in advance, which I ...

Re: Hello all! I'm new!

Hey Ryan, I'm in La Grange, just down the road from you. If my current therapist (in Willowbrook) doesn't work out, it's good to know I have another option.

However, my current therapist is happy to do internal work, so I'll probably stick with her.

Re: NO frequency issues?

Okay, I keep hearing about "diagnosis by exclusion," but what's the process for that? A physical therapist already told me that I have a bound-up pelvic floor and has been able to find trigger points on my perineum that cause a lot of pain. But they're typically right on the urethra, which might rep...

Re: NO frequency issues?

What about lack of post-ejaculatory pain? At one point, I had some during -ejaculatory pain, but since I went on benzos that's been mostly gone. Post-ejaculation is actually the only time I feel decent. I know Wikipedia is no hallmark of accuracy, but, a quote: Post-ejaculatory pain, mediated by ner...
