Re: ALCOHOL — The Full Monty

Wow, thanks for posting.
Red Wine and tequila are two of the only alcoholic drinks that don't contain gluten, but yet are the worst offenders for congeners. Sadly, even vodka contains gluten. Tough to do alcohol right if you're a CPPS sufferer!

Re: New here- Here's my Story

Cool. Still, it's not a lot. Better off taking pill format of quercetin eh?
I usually get Rooibos out at coffee shops. Guess I'm getting the oxidized stuff too.

I do drink that too sometimes. Not a pick me up but I like the taste...it actually only has like .2 mg of quercetin I think but not a bad option.

Re: Questions on caffeine and sex

Thanks. Strange that when I drink tea, the pain tends to actually diminish, and my urine after tends to flow a little more smoothly. Then again, I've had some opposite or unusual reactions to things compared to many others here.

Weaning off Elavil & Terazosin

A few days ago, I decided to start cutting my 10mg Elavil in half. The side effects for me (for the last 3 weeks) have been worse than prostatitis. The worst side effect has been getting up in the morning. I'm a complete zombie when I wake up, takes me 30 minutes of giving myself motivational speech...

Questions on caffeine and sex

Coming to the conclusion that this is a muscle issue and not an infection or actual prostate issue, why specifically would caffeine be bad for it? I'm just trying to understand how that would work. I don't drink much caffeine, but do have a cup or two of green tea a day. I tried cutting that out for...

Re: Immunomax therapy to obtain relief in prostatitis

Atari, I read your signature and the diet part is interesting. I have eaten low carb high fat for a few years now, and before that I was moderate carb for several years. I usually avoid the big illnesses and don't get many colds. At the beginning, I kept thinking my healthy diet would help me heal q...

Update on Elavil and Kevkos

Just want to write an update here. It's been 2 weeks since I started Elavil 10mg/day. I've been on Terazosin (Hytrin) for 2 months now at 10mg. Elavil: Side effects of feeling like a zombie and not being able to get out of bed in the morning are still persisting, although, not nearly as bad as the f...

Thanks, this helps a lot. I've actually seen slight improvements over the past 48 hours. I think you're right and another month on Terazosin is the way I will go.

Re: Terazosin (hytrin) Month 2 Results

I've now been on the full 10mg dose of Terazosin for about 6 weeks. (I also added Elavil 10 days ago). The voiding symptoms I was prescribed the drug for still persist. Most of the side effects went away, but it's hard to tell what is causing what because I'm experiencing a lot of grogginess from th...

Re: Elavil- Experience Day 2 and question

The discharge could not have been an infection, unless it was acquired a week earlier. Infection does not cause a discharge the next day. It takes about a week to see symptoms. The discharge was more likely to be a result of ejaculate left in the urethra. It was definitely prostatic fluid. I'm not ...

Re: New member here, just trying something new...

Guy97, Just a couple things: 1. Do you think the Elavil has helped as far as your recent improvements? I'm on day 9 and I'm just starting to feel slight improvements with my condition. Hopeful that this will continue. 2. I HIGHLY recommend reading a book called Healing Back Pain by John Sarno. The a...

Re: Elavil- Experience Day 8 and question

Day 8 of Elavil reporting. Well, I'm still pretty tired/out of it from this drug. I definitely haven't adjusted. It's better than day 1-2 now, but not a ton better. It's sometimes hard to think....not a good feeling. My prostatitis symptoms still haven't changed much. I did notice a little more uret...

Re: Elavil- Experience Day 2 and question

Thanks, it sounds like a party! ;) Actually, my first uro did an ultrasound, and his only comment was that "there's some calcification on your prostate", but didn't say what that means or what to do about it! You're right it wasn't painful or anything. I wonder if I need a more extensive one. I'd li...

Re: Elavil- Experience Day 2 and question

Thanks we.the.hulk, your responses are really helpful! I'm sticking with Elavil for 30 days and then see. So far, day 6, I'm not feeling much if any relief (actually the bladder thing is a little worse), and the foggy feeling is hard to shake, although it's not as bad as at first. I was already cons...
