Re: Could this really be caused by muscle tension?

Hi Jay. Yes your opinion is my gut instinct. But the fact that I only have discomfort in the tip of the penis and nowhere else ever makes me wonder. Perhaps it is just the muscles around the prostate that are referring the sensation. I was excited to read an article about nerve blocks until I kept r...

Re: Could this really be caused by muscle tension?

Thanks. I don't seem to have any trigger points in the Rectus Abdominus. Pressing in this area does duplicate my symptoms in that it makes me want to urinate, but that's where the bladder and other nerves are and so everyone would experience this, right? I have been working my psoas for awhile. Star...

Re: Could this really be caused by muscle tension?

Does anyone else experience something similar to this: Lying down and relaxing and symptoms go down to a 2 out of 10. Stand up and they immediately increase to 4 or 5 like clockwork. Could this mean that while standing, a nerve is being compressed, or while standing I can not relax the pelvic floor ...

Re: Pudendal Nerve? Could that be my problem?

Okay, but as I just posted elsewhere, what is the harm with getting a nerve block? With so many people reporting symptomatic relief, shouldn't it be done? Some info out there recommends this in addition to relaxation and PT! They say the nerve can be irritated by the muscle. It seems like the perfec...

Pudendal Nerve Perineural Injection

I have done quite a bit of reading on Pudendal Neuralgia. This is characterized my irritation of the Pudendal Nerve as opposed to entrapment (Pudendal Entrapment). I understand that tight muscles can irritate this nerve. I also understand that this irritation can be caused by other things including ...

Re: Symptom free for the first time...for a week

ajama484, is this perhaps similar to when I had a cystoscopy and then within a couple weeks my symptoms disappeared for 3 months? Has anyone else had this experience? Is it possible that something is being forced open during this procedure and providing relief? Based on this theory, when my symptoms...

Re: CPPS is taking my life from me (Brett's Case)

Brett, I have the same experience with pot. As soon as I smoke my symptoms become much worse and I can feel all the muscles in my back lock up and I don't feel relaxed at all. Actually I feel extremely anxious and my mind races. Alcohol has the opposite effect. I know you're not supposed to do it, b...

Re: Could this really be caused by muscle tension?

Brett, I have the same experiences sometimes especially when I am exhausted, lie down still and just kind of relax for a few minutes. Sometimes the symptoms go down to a 2 out of 10. Then I get up and walk around and the severity of the symptoms increases. Sitting on a plane for 3 or 4 hours I am in...

Re: Could this really be caused by muscle tension?

Jay, you're right in that the answer might not be so black and white. It's not like a broken bone that we're talking about. I guess until I am over this, I will always be looking at possible causes. Muscle tension and anxiety seem to make the most sense in my case just by looking at how my symptoms ...

Re: Could this really be caused by muscle tension?

Hi Burner. Interesting that we have such similar stories. Do your symptoms vary in intensity or are they always the same? I have times when it is not much more than annoying and other times when it is so intense that I wonder how I will get by. Only Valium and Xanax and very hot baths get me through...

Could this really be caused by muscle tension?

I am just about convinced that this is a muscular issue, but my case seems quite different to most everyone on here. I have no pain anywhere. I have discomfort that varies from annoying to extreme. It's felt in the penis. The discomfort feels like it's telling my brain to urinate even when my bladde...

Strategy for taking supplements

Just ordered most of the supplements recommend on this board including: Source Naturals, L-Theanine, 200 mg MRM, Relax - All, with Phenibut Graminex, PollenAid Now Foods, Stinging Nettle Root Extract, 250 mg Prosta Q Since they are herbs and not medications, is there any harm in just beginning to ta...

Xatral - nausea and dizziness

Decided to try Xatral. Took 10mg today with 50mg tramadol. Immediately felt dizzy and like I was going to throw up. Is this normal? And if so, how long will it take my body to get used to it? My prostate is not enlarged at all. Should I even bother trying this Xatral?

How long before you switch to another med?

Part of this great experiment for me lately has been Vesicare. I started with 5mg a day. After a few weeks it didn't seem to be helping. I switched to 10mg for a few more weeks. At the same time I finally decided to try higher doses of Tramadol - 150mg/ day. About 10 days ago I had 5 days in a row w...

Re: Rectal Valium Suppository or Gel-Muscle Relaxant

I have same question as critthinker. I often wonder about something that could be applied or even injected directly into the pelvic area to bring relief without the side effects of medications orally. Does anyone have experience with valium as a gel inserted into the rectum?
