Re: No pain - just constant sensation of needing to urinate

Hi fourleaf. I'm certain that I don't have IC. Apart from the fact that I had two unremarkable cystoscopies when this all began, my symptoms don't behave like IC. Spicy and acidic foods have no effect whatsoever. Alcohol always has an effect, but keep in mind that normally a few glasses of wine whil...

Re: No pain - just constant sensation of needing to urinate

Yoink, sorry to hear about the long flair. But it sounds like there is some real hope with the large trigger point that Tim found and the relaxation. I'm coming up on 3 months of the protocol. Here's what I do: 1. Stretching 30-45 mins twice daily 2. David Wise relaxation tapes 30min twice daily (I ...

Re: No pain - just constant sensation of needing to urinate

Thanks for this Webslave. It makes sense intellectually, but the challenge of course is to stay positive and stay on track when seemingly out of nowhere you experience huge discomfort for days at a time and don't know when it will ease up. At the end of the day, at least with the protocol, for the f...

Re: No pain - just constant sensation of needing to urinate

A quick update. I'm about 45 days into the protocol. I do stretching twice daily for about 45 minutes each time. I do the relaxation tapes twice daily for at least 30 minutes each time - but don't usually make it to the end of the tapes. I do the wand three times a week. It seems that I can take a l...

Re: No pain - just constant sensation of needing to urinate

Sorry for the very late reply Yoink. I've been to America and the clinic in Santa Rosa. It was a very good experience and very refreshing to speak with experts who aren't the least bit surprised at the symptoms I am experiencing and who can demonstrate what is behind it and who can offer a logical p...

Re: No pain - just constant sensation of needing to urinate

Hi Carl, I think the problem is that we all don't have the exact same thing going on. Some have pain, some don't. Some can barely sit, some have no issues while sitting. Some experience flare ups after eating certain foods and some don't. So if the condition is not identical I don't know how you can...

Re: No pain - just constant sensation of needing to urinate

Yoink, I basically do all the supplements that I mentioned before and then 20 minutes relaxation in the morning and again in the evening. Evening I do at least 30 minutes of stretching focusing on groin, hamstrings, hips. I use a soft ball and lie on my back and side placing the ball right in the sp...

Re: No pain - just constant sensation of needing to urinate

Yoink, sorry to hear about your flare. It sounds like there is a lot of hope as you have not tried many of the medications / supplements that have helped a lot of people and you have not yet followed the Wise / Anderson Protocol religiously as seems to be required at least for 6 months or so. We hav...

Re: Hello all! New to the forum but not new to CPPS

Most of my story is in another thread in this section, but I just wanted to add that I also remember the exact moment that symptoms started. It was during ejaculation. One moment everything was normal and the next moment this sensation appeared and I immediately knew that something was wrong. Since ...

Re: No pain - just constant sensation of needing to urinate

Thanks for the clarification webslave. How difficult is it to self treat trigger points located high on the Levator Ani? As Yoink said, it seems there is a razor thin margin between pressing on the prostate and pressing on the Levator Ani. Yesterday I felt pretty good all day. Maybe a 5 or so. I alw...

Re: No pain - just constant sensation of needing to urinate

Hi Yoink, Have you tried Alpha Blockers? Many people seem to get good results with these after initial side effects... Also, some people get good results with Lyrica. I haven't tried either, but they are on the list. I also may try Baclofen and Flexeril depending on how things go with the clinic nex...

Re: No pain - just constant sensation of needing to urinate

Hi yoink. I'm on my phone now so I'll post more tomorrow when I have my laptop. What medications have you tried? Are the back doctors confident these symptoms are not related to that injury? I had the same horrible flares when I tried some of the internal stuff with a prostate massager. Maybe I was ...

Re: No pain - just constant sensation of needing to urinate

George, thanks for this. How much relief did Uroxatral give you? How long did you have to take it at what dosage before you started to feel improvement? I still have the remaining Uroxatral in my house and I am kind of thinking of trying that maybe after I get back from Santa Rosa. But I would reall...

Re: No pain - just constant sensation of needing to urinate

Hi Burner2K. I have not tried Baclofen or Lyrica so it's good to hear that you are getting some good results with them. I will add them to the list as perhaps something to try in the future. Did you ever try any Alpha Blockers? I tried one pill of Uroxatral and it literally knocked me out like a tra...
