Re: A Unique Story, My 4-Year Experience

So Overactive Bladder med isn't doing a whole lot. Almost have been on it for a week now. Will be on it for another week before making a call about continuing it depending on symptoms. CMT23, have u tried any other skeletal muscle antispasmodic medications like Tizanidine & Dantrolene? I strongly be...

Re: A Unique Story, My 4-Year Experience

Avery, I will provide a short summary of my experience with Trigger Pt therapy. Yes, I have tried it under several PTs. Some PTs were unable to hit the trigger points, however I found relief on the day of PT. The symptoms would return back right the next day. This was the time when I was not on any ...

Re: A Unique Story, My 4-Year Experience

I pretty much have the same symptoms as CMT23, but I do feel that my penile head is over sensitive in certain areas only (not all). Also my symptoms started exactly same as yours. Like CMT23 said, please go through other's posts with condition similar to yours and collate a list of 'Do' & 'Don't Do'...

Re: No pain - just constant sensation of needing to urinate

Dude, are you taking all those meds daily? Or did u try those meds at various times at the dosage mentioned above? I can attest that Baclofen 10mg 1x day helped me initially a lot. A few months down the line, Baclofen (same dosage) + hot baths would do the trick. Like I mentioned in one of my posts ...

Re: No pain - just constant sensation of needing to urinate

I plan to start this drug called Terol LA-2 (Tolterdoine) as soon as I manage to get a prescription. An urologist way back suspected irritation to bladder muscles and thus sending out false signals.

I will keep you posted on the outcome.

Re: No pain - just constant sensation of needing to urinate

Webslave, thanks for that article a lot. I guess I can start with meds and hopefully will get this under control. I would love to hear OAB med experiences from other folks here.

Thx

Re: No pain - just constant sensation of needing to urinate

CMT23, Have you tried any OAB meds apart from alpha blockers? I found an interesting paper on OAB (will post the link later) which talks about our symptom i.e. constant urge to urinate, being part of OAB. I understand that the symptoms of folks with urinary issues here on this board do not match wit...

Re: Saying Hi & my symptoms- One more Question

Webslave, thanks for the reply. I got some info about Urispas on the forum. The doc said to take the med 3 times a day after food. I feel that kind of dosage might be high. I am seeing him again tomorrow and will ask him about the dosage but from the guys who have used it, whats the recommended dosa...

Re: Saying Hi & my symptoms- One more Question

Webslave or other folks, Are you guys familiar with Urispas (Flavoxate)? Supposedly this med reduces the spasm in the bladder. It was prescribed by a doctor here. I saw him to get a prescription for a urine routine test. Anyways, I looked up this med and apparently it relaxes smooth wall bladder mus...

Re: Hello all! New to the forum but not new to CPPS

CMT23, Dude, if you read my posts Baclofen helped me immensely. I was almost great since Jan 2011 to Feb 2012. I have been having flares off lately and although its not as bad as back in 2010, its still something which bothers me and triggers catastrophic thoughts. I haven't got back to Baclofen but...

Re: Sex vs Masturbation

Thanks for the replies guys. My question stems from the fact that it would be difficult for me to find a girl if things don't lead to marriage (cultural practice you can say). Marriage is a big commitment with our condition. And over sexual activity definitely increases the symptoms. I am just curio...

Sex vs Masturbation

Folks, I have been discussing this issue with a fellow CPPS sufferer for the past few days and we are confounded by lack of clarity. Is there any difference between having sex with a partner and masturbating long-term? Is it unhealthy not to have sex for a long time but just masturbate? Would love t...
