Re: Bossman's case - How to find a trigger point PT?

Dry needling should only be done by trained and qualified PTs. The person I mentioned earlier is one such individual. Dry needling is very similar to TrP injections, the main difference being that there is no substance injected into the body. I've found it very helpful for external TrP deactivation ...

Re: Review: Netherlands Clinic

You have to do it consistently for at least a month or two to expect to notice any difference.

Also, do you feel pain ON bowel movements or just after? Trying to figure out if you should be drinking more water, eating more fiber.

Re: Bossman's case - How to find a trigger point PT?

Hey Bossman, I think the clinic could be a good option for you as well. However, if you're interested in a PT in NoVa/DC who is competent, it's going to be hard to find one. I highly recommend Bethesda Physiocare (Louise Kelley is fantastic). However, they do dry needling for external muscles, not m...

Re: Role of Mast Cells finally acknowledged

I noticed this article on mast cells: http://www.modernmedicine.com/modernmedicine/Modern+Medicine+Now/Antihistamines-may-play-role-in-treating-chronic-p/ArticleStandard/Article/detail/685932 The penultimate paragraph is interesting: Could clinicians successfully treat CP/CPPS empirically with a com...

No, biofeedback is totally different from squatting. Here's an image of squatting:

Re: Review: Netherlands Clinic

It's three hours of time with Fetske. She's wonderful, and she'll keep in touch with you and answer any questions you might have. I think this is a tough decision for you that will mostly come down to how important financial considerations are. You have airfare, W-A clinic costs, ground transportati...

Re: IC/BPS, IC/CPPS Widespread Among Men in the U.S.

Good find. It's heartening to see that this condition isn't as rare as some would have us believe. At the same time, it's disconcerting that a condition affecting so many men barely registers on the public radar.

Re: Review: Netherlands Clinic

Total price was 600 Euro, which included the wand and the video player. Then there's the fee Fetske charges, which is 500 Euro for her time. I think going to this clinic instead of the one in California only makes sense if you 1) don't live in the U.S. and/or 2) feel strongly that you are well-verse...

Re: Review: Netherlands Clinic

Yes, she did the TrP mapping similar to Tim Sawyer. We didn't have a ton of time, so I asked her not to focus on external since I have a PT back here in the U.S. who is doing so.

Review: Netherlands Clinic

Hi everyone, I visited the F-Act Pelvic Pain Clinic (http://www.allesoversms.nl/joomla2/index.php/english) last week in Enkhuizen, The Netherlands and wanted to post a review of my experience. First, I have seen Tim Sawyer many times in the Bay Area but have never visited the W-A clinic primarily be...

Steve, did you ever resolve this? I have these exact symptoms and am starting to think they are 'roids.

Re: Are these trigger points or hemorrhoids? Please HELP...

Alphalifestyle, how are things working out? I still have some of those exquisitely tender points. It's like they are JUST outside of the sphincter and can be accessed by pressing down with a single finger. Interestingly, I have to get the angle just right to feel the pain.

I highly recommend Roseanne Cruz @ Beyond Basics. She's great at finding both external and internal TrPs and is a very pleasant person.

Re: CURED AFTER 8 YRS OF CHRONIC "ABACTERIAL" PROSTATITIS

I also consulted with Dr. Kaufman (back in '09) and was similarly unimpressed. He prescribed me with Levaquin even after it was pretty obvious that my original infection was gone.
