Re: Prosta-Q & Q-Urol

Another supplement to consider is Cystoprotek. Some people I've talked to have had success with it. I tried Prosta-Q for quite a while and had mixed results. I'm going to try out Cystoprotek soon.

Yup, definitely. I've been talking to Yoink15 via Gchat and we're definitely interested in starting a group. Can you shoot him an email at yoink15@gmail.com? He is supposed to hear from one other person.

Re: Alternative to Suppositories?

Yeah, I've tried experimenting with lower doses of the benzos. What's unfortunate is that the side effects kick in at exactly the dosage at which they have a therapeutic effect. I wonder if this is a possible interaction between the Paxil I'm on and the benzos. In your experience do people start exp...

Re: Alternative to Suppositories?

Webslave, this wouldn't work with Ativan and Valium since they are benzos. Unfortunately, it's those two that seem to offer me the most relief.

Any other ideas?

Alternative to Suppositories?

I've had major side effects (mostly dizziness, drowsiness, nightmares, etc.) with meds like Elavil, Baclofen, Valium and Ativan. However, recently I began to consider the prospect that taking them rectally instead of orally might reduce the side effects and yet pack as much punch (esp. because they ...

Re: Are these trigger points or hemorrhoids? Please HELP...

Hey guys, any updates here? I still have these points. I'm considering getting Botox injected directly into the sphincter. My problem is that every time I do manual work on this area I flare up like crazy!

Re: Need Urologist and PT in Washington, DC Area

Jan Dommerholt of bethesda physiocare treats male patients with dry needling for external trigger points, he does not do internal work, his treatment was immensly helpful in my case Highly recommend Dommerholt and Bethesda Physiocare. Not sure about Jan, but another therapist there does internal wo...

I'll be in OC for at least the next 1-2 months and might be able to make this (depending on whether I'm able to sit in my car long enough!).

Re: Looking for a urologist in Cincinnati

Thanks Superuse and Critthinker for your replies. Yes, I am leaning toward the PT side of the house. I am only seeing my urologist to rule out cancer (which he has ruled out). Regarding Cleveland Clinic: Do they have anyone there that is trained on Trigger Point Release (because it feels like that ...

Re: Tensing

I am one of those people in A HEADACHE IN THE PELVIS whom Dr. Wise refers to when he discusses those who have extreme difficulty identifying pelvic tension. I struggled and struggled to understand the concept of "dropping your pelvis" until it finally dawned on me that the pelvic floor's default sta...

Re: Looking for a urologist in Cincinnati

I'd recommend visiting Dr. Shoskes to: 1) rule out cancer or any other more serious conditions 2) do a DRE and obtain an EPS to run a culture on (his culturing seems to be especially rigorous) 3) have a TRUS done 4) put you on medication as needed You should also check out the pain management docs a...

This is a very key question. In my experience, it seems like this kind of stuff impedes healing. For me, it's coffee, alcohol, and sex.

Re: Sex vs Masturbation

Thanks for the tip, Ksirrah! I have experienced the same feeling (my ex liked to be on top and although she wasn't fat, she wasn't petite). I would tense up my pelvis because I kept thinking she was going to crush my penis! We gotta be totally aware of these psychological responses.

Hey guys, Neue01, I definitely have pain and tightness between 4 and 7 o'clock. My main problem areas are the sphincter and the coccygeus/puborectalis. It's interesting that you mention the connection w/ ejaculation. I have noticed that every time I ejaculate, my symptoms flare up for many days, som...
