98% Better - Here's My Story

Five years ago I lived in New York City, working in a job I loved more than any other I had previously held. I had an active dating and social life, meeting with friends for dinner on weeknights and going out to bars, lounges and clubs on the weekends. I exercised daily and was at the peak of my phy...

Tried Dr. Jordan, was NOT impressed. Charged a ton of money and only made things worse.

Re: Non-irritating ways to strengthen pelvic muscles?

Check out this book: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/007154 ... ag=cp58-20

It aligns quite well with what you're talking about (it starts off with exercises designed to loosen pelvic floor muscles and then moves on to ones that will strengthen them).

Not sure about Restore, but I highly recommend Bethesda Physiocare (Jan Dommerholt). They definitely know a lot about CPPS.

Re: Transperineal ultrasonic therapy

It's been helping. I went off of it for a long time and it seems like that made me worse.

Re: Transperineal ultrasonic therapy

Here's the one I used:

I just use it on the perineum/over the sphincter. It seemed to reduce my pain somewhat when I used it on a regular basis.

Re: Transperineal ultrasonic therapy

This is a very interesting study. I've had good results in deactivating TrPs using ultrasound wand purchased for $25 on eBay. I'd recommend it to others. Here's an interesting article on US and TrPs: http://www.webmd.com/fitness-exercise/news/20000228/muscles-ultrasound-treatment?redirect=/content/a...

rTMS for CPPS?

It looks like reptitive transcranial magnetic stimulation has been used for other chronic pain syndromes. I wonder if it might work for CPPS? Andre-Obadia N, Peyron R, Mertens P, et al. Transcranial magnetic stimulation for pain control. Double-blind study of different frequencies against placebo, a...

Alpha, wanted to get an update. How have things been? My "grains" are back and I've been biting the bullet and pressing down on them.

Maybe use Google translate? I was able to rent an apartment once in Austria using it.

Re: Looking for a uro in LA area

Not sure if a uro is the best person to be asking regarding whether your pelvic floor is tense. I'd recommend visiting the USC Pelvic Pain Clinic. Talk to Dan Kirages -- he's great and totally gets all of this.

Re: Looking for a uro in LA area

Unfortunately I don't think there are many uros in LA who are familiar with CPPS. In SF I'd recommend Dr. Weiss.
