Re: Having trouble finding my trigger points (Manick's Case)

I have to correct myself. They do seem to be informed of CPPS, and I saw a different PT today at the same clinic for my 3rd appointment. This new one described what I originally thought as "tightening of the lower abdominal muscles" instead as "trying to hold in the urge to urinate", which made much...

Re: Having trouble finding my trigger points (Manick's Case)

Thank you very much for your advise charles, I greatly appreciate it. I will look for that book on Amazon and order it immediately and try to convince my PT's that we may be doing more harm than good and see if I can get a second opinion as well. As far as stretches are concerned, would it be wise t...

Re: Having trouble finding my trigger points (Manick's Case)

Oh, I apologize for not being more direct, but yes the last message was intended to be for the both of you. As I said earlier, she gave me these exercises to do with tightening my abs even after I had explained to her that I had increased pain ever since I started working on my first set of stretche...

Re: Having trouble finding my trigger points (Manick's Case)

I've already shared this information with her prior to us beginning the 2nd set of stretches which involved tightening my abs. She already knew that I previously had post/pre-bowel movement pain, pain while sitting for long periods of time, pain during arousal/ejaculation, and everything in between....

Re: Having trouble finding my trigger points (Manick's Case)

I've gone to see my PT for a second time now and they gave me additional lightweight stretches to do for homework between sessions. The PT says I have very weak abdominal muscles and can definitely feel a lot of tension in my lower abdomen, so I am having to work on strengthening and learning to con...

Self Trigger Point Release work

Can doing your own trigger point release sometimes make the trigger point more irritable? I've been able to completely eliminate pain a few times so far by following the instructions from both "Headache in the Pelvis" and "The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook" a closely as possible, but I think I may ...

Re: Having trouble finding my trigger points (Manick's Case)

@mapletop I have just started my PT sessions this week only 4 months after the onset. I do hope that I have begun the appropriate protocol early enough so that this does not become a chronic condition. I helped them locate my lateral abdominal trigger point, and they did some external trigger point ...

Re: Exercise (running) has helped a lot

I personally have to be careful with running if I am experiencing a high level of symptoms. From what I understand, any exercise that will have a high impact on your body will harm your muscles even more if they are already highly tense and strained. I did quite a bit of walking and running one week...

Re: Try not to pass urine when having a BM

My current Elavil dosage (50mg) makes it nearly impossible to both at the same time, and my doctor recommended I lower it to 25. I recently went 3 days without a bowel movement, but my frequency is still there. Are you supposed to sit with a particular posture to help let it out easier? Because I th...

Re: Having trouble finding my trigger points (Manick's Case)

lymph glands are the sites that hold our white blood cells and send them to an infected area, right? I remember reading about them when I first started experiencing symptoms in my penis before my first major onset occurred, that made both sides of my gut feel like its skin was being torn apart (it w...

Re: Having trouble finding my trigger points (Manick's Case)

I think I may have found a trigger point in my Lateral Abdominals. I have been reading "Headache In the Pelvis" and recently discovered this area for external trigger points, and was immediately enlightened. Earlier I described that I had pain on both sides of my ribs, but that has almost completely...

Re: Having trouble finding my trigger points (Manick's Case)

I think I may have found one, right below my right rib, but I am not so sure. I felt the other side of my abs under my left rib and felt nothing. What I was feeling below my right rib though, almost did feel like a knot maybe half the size of a pea. In general, it also felt a little more tight/tense...

Re: Having trouble finding my trigger points (Manick's Case)

I would still like to hear from someones perspective about how to find/feel for trigger points, especially from someone who also reads the same self-treatment guide as I do, "The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook; Second Edition" by Davies. I am not quite sure if my massaging is working or not, but tod...

Re: Just got a flare-up, but am I still making progress?

Well, I did have a very bad case of a coughing fit that went on for like a month and I was diagnosed with chronic bronchitis. I coughed so much and constantly that it made my chest hurt horribly and gave me a sore throat. But now, the symptoms are virtually non-existent, and hardly noticeable or dis...

Having trouble finding my trigger points

This morning I woke up with a somewhat sore and burning sensation right above and behind my pubic bone, enough to make me worry that I'd be in pain for the rest of the day. This is not the first time it has happened though, and it used to be far worse. When it was worse, and when I went to press int...
