Dr. Moldwin's "4 Step" Protocol for CPPS

After a 6 month wait for an appointment, I finally saw Dr. Robert Moldwin on Long Island in New York. He is a nationally know urologist, especially for IC and CPPS. He confirmed that I did have chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome (no shock there) and also reinforced that he sees many ...

Re: Physical Therapist - Central NJ

Jon- Let me know what you think of beyond basics. Who are you seeing there? Is it helping? I live in Northern NJ. I looked at Beyond Basics but it seems like it is a hardship to get to in the city b/c of their hours. Do you drive in or take a bus/train? I'm currently seeing a PT in Englewood named N...

Re: Electroacupuncture relieves pain in CP/CPPS

Sandcrab, I went for a total of 12 treatments. If it helped, it was marginal at best. I enjoyed the "relax time" under a heat lamp while the needles were in place for about 30 minutes or so, but as far as relieving symptoms, it helped for a little while to reduce them for a few days. (Whic...

Re: Electroacupuncture relieves pain in CP/CPPS

With my acupuncturist, he didn't know CPPS, but he did know BPH. Since they work in "meridians" of the body, the bladder and the prostate fall in the same meridian I believe, so needle placement should be similar. He showed me one spot just above the ankle bone on the inside of the leg whe...

Re: Physical Therapist - Central NJ

I know of a therapist in Cranford, NJ (That's central, right?) named Linda Bernott from Advanced Physical Therapy Associates who does internal work and trigger points. http://www.advancedpt.info/ A little further north in Morris Township, NJ is Geri Guingon-White at Morristown Hospital PT at Mount K...

Re: Electroacupuncture relieves pain in CP/CPPS

I asked my former acupuncturist about this. He said that it most likely involves needles in the perineum attached to a low voltage stimulator.

I tried this for two sessions (out of the 12 I had) when I had acupuncture in December-January of 2008 without much relief.

Re: New clinical trial of anti-NGF antibody

Does anyone know if you are in a clinical trial, can you continue with other therapies? (i.e. Stanford/Wise-Anderson Protocol, pain relievers, stretching, etc.)?

Thanks
