Re: SSI Disability

This is a discouraging topic to read about, I had debated going on disability through my employer but decided against it, I think it would be too mentally difficult to handle. In terms of press contact, I have one at the NYT, he suggested I write an op ed. I explained the CPPS world and mentioned a ...

Re: Penistip Pain

Webslave is right, this is allodynia and it does go away or decrease as the condition starts to get better. I also think it is fairly common. When I would take showers after a bath, the water raining down on the penis tip would cause a lot of pain and also when i got the cold and "wind" would cause ...

Re: Study: PTNS effective for CPPS

Not many active members here thankfully have had such surgeries, however, in my time spent researching CPPS we are such a small percentage of sufferers and I myself sometimes have become delusional in that the only ones suffering from this are on this site. When all doctors have given up on you and ...

Re: Tanezumab

This shocking, not only from a CPPS point of view but from an osteoarthritis point of view, this drug has helped many people obtain the unthinkable and I have seen it help CPPS/IC patients. Being a cynic I wonder if it has to do with the fact that there were rumors out that it was too expensive to p...

Re: LDN - Naltrexone

My research shows there is also a negative reaction to Benzo's as well. I dont know about amitriptyline but I wouldn't think so since its primarily an anti depression/anxiety med and many opioid users need these when getting off them and I see no mention of tricyclics in the materials that I've seen...

Re: Study: PTNS effective for CPPS

Superuse, You bring up some hot issues, I understand your points. I was merely posting the study results from a PTNS study sort of in response to Kevin (sham treatment question) and webslave. My secondary point was that I was shocked at how many invasive surgeries people have had. When I was at the ...

Clonazepam - burning pain

I know men here take Clonazepam and even Dr Wise recommends it when your flares are out of control. I take this drug frequently on and off at 0.5 mg and it really cuts the pain level down about 50-75%. Anyways, I had wondered why this helps so much and was sick of hearing "it helps because your so a...

Re: Study: PTNS effective for CPPS

If your interested in PTNS get the full PDF report on "Percutaneous Tibial Nerve Stimulation as Neuromodulative Treatment of Chronic Pelvic Pain" from the Netherlands Journal: European Eurology It does a good job of explaining what they did, size of needle, duration of treament, etc I have only the ...

Smith Urology Institute

I got the below list of "novel" therapies from the Smith Urology Blog , a bit interesting. Interesting the mention of Cannabinoids aka marijuana as a treatment, I had a uro once tell me I should try it. I never have, and reading posts here it apparently makes CPPS worse. Think this list puts everyth...

Re: Tanezumab

I was in this study, while I dont think it helped me, I spoke to others in the trial and some did in fact have a moderate to significant decrease in pain, one woman who was clearly in pain from IC/CPPS when she first started claimed she was pain free. I have my doubts but I can't argue with it. What...

Re: New Clues to Chronic Pelvic Pain

Makes sense, very clearly written. But how are we so sure that the mouse has pelvic pain and how do we know the pelvic pain in the mouse is the same as mine? Same thing with Buffington and his pelvic pain cats. Do they have CPPS or do they have some cat specific urinary condition? The patch idea see...

Re: New Clues to Chronic Pelvic Pain

There is no doubt that in a subset of patients men and women that their is neural "crosstalk." However, this process is unbelieveably complex. I had a grand rounds done on me awhile back and I brought this up in front of the 30-40 neurologists most looked baffled and others intrigued. The head of ne...

Re: Has anyone been to Dr Attila Toth in NYC?

Just curious, why would you go back to Toth for Chlamydia test on Sept 10 if your symptoms had largely cleared, I'm assuming you feel they cleared due to the injections? Did you think that the Chlamydia was still lingering after a year? Are you looking for another clinician to find a positive bacter...

Blaker,

That's great you're feeling better.

What dosages do you take? How did you come to find out about this drug?

Thanks Man
