Best Pelvic Anatomy Web Site?

I know webslave lists a web site under FAQ and News but I know I came across one about a month ago that was excellent. I could click on a particular pelvic muscle and it would show a color picture (not from an mri) with that muscle a different color from all the others. Does anybody know what site t...

Re: Vitamin D and chronic pain

Can anybody point me to a website with the research that shows a correlation between CPPS and living in northern latitudes? I am very interested in this. I think there is a lot to the D deficiency as being a causal factor.

Re: Vitamin D deficiency

The WHI study on vitamin D only administered 400 i.u. per day of vitamin D, not enough IMHO to do diddle. Please see the Vitamin D Council site. There is lots of research there, and as you'll see they recommend around 5,000 iu (125mcg) daily if one usually avoids the sun. Using sunscreen blocks vita...

Re: Vitamin D deficiency

ramana, Have you been taking 5,000 i.u. of vitamin D3? I read elsewhere on the forum that you had dental problems. That can be another indicator of D deficiency. How about trying 5,000 i.u. of D3 (make sure you don't take more than the daily requirement of vitamin A or it can block the D) for the re...

Re: Clinical trials as of January 24 2009

Ramana - I have to second webslave here and say beware. Please try the higher dose (5,000 iu/day during the winter) of vitamin D for three months before you even consider any kind of surgery. Surgery cannot be undone and may lead to further pain. But I understand. I considered it in the past myself....

Re: Vitamin D deficiency

It is true Dr. Cannell believe D should be at 50 ng/mL or above. However, they believe one needs 5,000 i.u. per day in winter ( NOT in all seasons but winter) if you live at latitude above that of Los Angeles, California. So, to be correct, one needs 5,000 i.u. per day in the winter above the latitu...

Re: Vitamin D deficiency

Take a look at the cod liver oil and make sure it does not have high levels of vitamin A. I think the Council believes the A in cod liver oil can be antagonistic to the vitamin D, thereby not giving you the full benefit of the D you are taking. Just something to check out. I look forward to hearing ...

Re: Vitamin D deficiency

Ramana - Please read everything on the Vitamin D Council site. If you are above a latitude of 38 you probably need at least 5,000 i.u per day in the winter. Do you live in the United States? In the U.S. you do NOT need a prescription for Vitamin D. There is prescription D but what you want to take a...

Re: Vitamin D deficiency

Clay - With your colitis and other digestive problems it would probably be worth getting your Vitamin D level checked periodically. See my post to Ramana. With digestive problems you may not be absorbing the D capsules. Maybe a sunlamp would be more effective. Please see the Vitamin D Council site...

Re: Vitamin D deficiency

See the Vitamin D Council site. They recommend that you keep levels no lower than 50 ng/mL. There is also a female gynecologist, Dr. Monica Peacocke, who wrote a single case (I know, I know) article in Cutis about treating a woman with a type of vulvodynia by getting and keeping her levels above 50 ...
