Re: Painagain thread

I'll have to back Jo up on his reference to the Stress Eraser and the Magnesium. Mg is a very good muscle relaxer, but as I said in a previous thread, finding the right Mg compound depends on each individual's body. Onto the stress eraser. . Once I found that my condition paralleled CPPS, I started ...

Re: Trigger Point at Anus

I've had trigger points along there come and go. It seems they are the easiest to work out for me using the wand. Initially, it is painful to press, but after some time, the pain diminishes and eventually in one sitting, the pain is gone. I do not get too much referral pain in that area, it is very ...

Re: Does Lying Down Reduce Pain for Everyone

Jay and Carld are both right. We all come here searching for the magic answer or the magic pill or the magic stretch. There is none. You could search for key posts on this site because we all find relief in different ways. There are certain posts that allowed me to see the light. There is no quick f...

Re: Doctor with CPPS

I do not want to turn this into a Lyrica bashing/praising thread but seeing that I had taken Lyrica prior to knowing what my condition actually was, I think I may be able to give a different perspective. 9/10 months into my pain, thinking it was nerve damage in the spine or abdomen, I had tried, the...

Re: Elavil alternatives?

Initially I was prescribed 50 mgs of Elavil(generic Amitriptyline) which caused a lot of problems with bowel movements. I did not even try to reduce the dosage. I just gave up on it. After spending more time on this board researching, I decided to re-add it to my protocol. I halved it to 25 mgs a da...

Re: Does Chronic Prostatitis Exist?

I showed trace blood in my urine samples also and according to my uro while it is not ideal, it has become relatively common. The next question is how much and where do you draw the line to have concern. Like most of us, I gave up on my uro.

Re: Has anyone has done a hormone saliva test?

I agree with the consensus so far. I had a nutritionist friend of mine do a cortisol test on me using saliva with "their preferred company" (free) and compared it to the blood work my endocrinologist performed. I was waiting for the sales pitch and there it came. When the saliva tests came back, my ...

Women's Pelvic Health Awareness

I found this article on Yahoo today and it rang a bell of irony as to how most of us men never really thought about our pelvic muscles unless we were doing some squats, deadlifts, or ab exercises to build strength and endurance. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20090401/hl_nm/us_pelvic_health_1 The articl...

Re: Elavil

Hey guys, I had a crappy first experience with Elavil. However, my pain management doctor prescribed it before I found this forum and such. I had a Rx for 50 mg a day. I took it for about a week or so and could not stand the grogginess, "brain fog", and tiredness. That was at 50 mgs a day (at night)...

Re: Question on the best position for internal self-treatment

I hope I read your post wrong Hacksquat, but you attempted to use the Theracane for internal work? Yikes!!! :eye-popin: I hope it is early and I am reading that wrong. I have both the wand and the purple slender. I prefer the wand while laying on my back with my knees bent and feet flat on the groun...

Re: probiotics

Not sure I was allowed to  Didn't want to "advertise" for one specific brand. But the initial probiotic I took was suggested by my GI doctor and it by Proctor and Gamble: Align GI ( http://www.aligngi.com ). I thought it worked great, but I also believe most doctor's offices are corrupted by th...

Re: probiotics

I think probiotics in general are a good thing. The problem is finding the right one that works for you. A few years back, I had digestive issues (2005-2006), which were not resolved by my GI doctor until he placed me on a probiotic (and symax duotab helped initially with the stomach pain). It was a...

Re: ICE BAGS/PACKS

Before I knew what CPPS was and before I was diagnosed with some form of Pelvic Dysfunction, an ice pack was my savior. I used it on my drive to Miami. Had a cooler full of ice and my trusty icepack. But once the ice is removed, the pain slowly comes back. Now that I know what I have, I stick to the...

Re: My PT does the internal but has a MT do the External

Thanks Jay.... Since this is my first PT/MT that I have been too, I guess I need a sample size to compare her trigger point work. She is aware of my CPPS. Her and the PT do share my file but they are never in the room at the same time. Maybe I will re-visit youtube and look at some of the trigger po...

My PT does the internal but has a MT do the External

As I read your posts about visiting your PT, it sounds like they perform all the work, internal and external. Now I know rule #1 is not all PTs are created equal. But my PT performs the internal work in which no tools are used (i.e. not deep enough). But has a massage therapist come in to perform th...
