My Last Month

I have been making some major changes in my life. Since July 1st, I have been taking the bus and train to work and use a little electric scooter to putt around. I'm trying to simplify my life as much as I can. I realize I don't enjoy teaching, mainly because of the environment, but since I can retir...

My Last Three Weeks

I've been avoiding the boards because I just want to focus on myself. I'm happy to say that I am doing much better than before. I had my Uro-Dynamic test done last week. For those of you who have not had it, it is not the funnest thing to go through, but it is doable. Basically a technician puts a t...

Change in symptoms

I am coping with this thing like we all are. I'm going in for a urodynamic test on Thursday because for the last month I continue to have problems with clenching when I void. It seems that now I can only void when I press down. If I don't press down then I clench. It does not always work, but most o...

Going in for my Colonoscopy tomorrow

I have had a real interesting week. I wound up having to go to the emergency room because my regular uro wouldn't see me. He said he had too many patients to see and for me to go to the ER. Isn't it nice to know there are people with so much compassion? I had so much burning pain and I couldn't stan...

Re: HELP: Same Old Story With a Twist

Unfortunately, people with advanced degrees can tend to be high strung, and like chess players can do the "what if" game thinking much ahead to exhaustion sometimes. The Catastrophic thinking is is a variant of that....This is usually a malady of people meeting the profile below, many with advanced...

Re: Just wanted to introduce myself (Strobers Case)

Thanks Ramana, Yes, I've read the book. It's excellent. There is no doubt in my mind that my anxiety is a big, big part of this thing. I'm back on my anxiety meds and completely stopped all my other pills and supplements and am just drinking Green Vibrance, which is an excellent whole food source. I...

Re: Where I'm at.....where I'm headed

If you are headed there, I'll be at the end waiting for you. I just saw my fourth or fifth uro a couple of days ago. He's a young guy too. Didn't have much empathy, but not too many doctors do when they see a parade of patients coming by that they can't help. In the fourteen months I've had this dis...

Re: Stress a Main Component of Functional Somatic Syndrome

I've always said that a lot of the diseases mentioned are at least partly based on internal and external toxins. Too bad we aren't living 30 years in the future when we could use the information.

Re: Belladonna opium suppositories for anal spasm

I use Valium suppositories and they work decently. I've never heard of the one you mentioned. I thought belladonna was toxic.

I'm going downhill

I started getting really constipated three or four days ago, to the point I was bleeding. The clenching of my PC muscle now happens when I defecate. I bought some magnesium and took the minimum and then my stools started getting watery, but I still continue to bleed. Yesterday I had one of the worst...

Re: Hello everyone! (Jay's Case)

I'm kind of in the same boat you are in. I woke up having to void, and every time I do I have major hesitancy or I clench and it just makes my flares worse and worse. I took a Valium today and it barely took the edge off. I'm trying to stay busy, but sitting down to work just makes it way worse. Bot...

Re: Neuropathic Pain

Snails and flowers aren't very marketable because they are patentable. I wonder how this will be played out in the board room.

Interesting article.

This Clenching Thing

I'm continuing to have this issue with the clenching, but maybe I'm wrong about it being a spasm. Maybe it's something totally different. As I stated before, when it started, I was urinated standing up and then all of a sudden in mid stream I clenched. The muscle that clenched had to have been the P...

Re: Glucosamine, MSM and Quercetin

They have a bunch of everything there. Do a search on anything in the subject area above and you'll find them. There is plenty to choose from and many of the supplements are reviewed too.

Re: Glucosamine, MSM and Quercetin

The best place I've found to get supplements is i-Herb. They have a lot to choose from and their service is excellent. I get my products in two days just about every time.
