Re: General Question

looked at the site. I dont have any incontinence, which seems to be the focus of what they are talking about. On the TURP, my URO talked about TUIP if I did the Botox and SP and neither worked. But, I am really eager to avoid a surgical solution.

Re: General Question

why do you say I am not a CPPS patient? I do have off and on discomfort in the right groin/testicle in terms of actual physical discomfort. And, the examples in the "Headache" book talk about all of the issues that I have been dealing with except for the physical trigger points inside the pelvis. I ...

Re: General Question

He is. I just like the fact that he listens and he is totally against surgery for a 45 year old unless it is the last thing to try. Most bladder oriented patients are actually women, and he has had success 60%+ of the time. I would prefer to have higher odds, which is why I am still going to do my b...

Re: General Question

The Urodynamic study is basically a way to measure the strength of your flow and how well you retain/release fluids. Plus, the scans show them your bladder and prostate in action. It is not the most pleasant thing in the world. You have to stand, and are hooked up to a catheter, and they fill your b...

Re: General Question

Elytiniski, Thanks for the encouragement and advice. When I was really bad two years ago and started the PT, I got better, but sadly, I can't remember exactly how well I was doing. I do know that a month ago I was ready to literally jump off of a bridge, but now it is more of the daily ups and downs...

Re: General Question

Webslave, One more thing. What is really frustrating for me is this.... last Wednesday, I had I guess what I would consider a great day (I keep a log).. got up at 9 (urinated), then urinated at 1, 4, 7, 10.....(that's pretty good, still had the weak stream/flow when i did urinate) and then went to b...

Re: General Question

Webslave, Since you seem to have a ton of knowledge, I thought I would update you on my situation and get your thoughts. I have improved somewhat, ironically since the day I saw my URO at the Brigham and Women's in Boston a few weeks ago (I was in distress for a whole week and since I left his offic...

Re: General Question

I definitely dont have an infected prostate. I do have an enlarged one, and my URO wants to do a cystoscopy and see if the middle lobe is causing the interference (so then he would advise laser surgery.... I am not crazy about that). I do take hot baths, I am doing the relaxation tapes from my PT wh...

Re: General Question

Need some help....Today I had a BM late morning and was fine until after I ate lunch and then everything went haywire. I had muscle spasms in my lower left abdomen and it was as if my plumbing was all backed up. It made me feel as if I had to urinate every 5-10 minutes, which I did by taking a hot b...

Re: General Question

Drydoc, I think a lot of what you said has merit, and I will bring it up with the psychiatrist and my CPP therapist. I was thinking the other day about the pavlovian thing because it is almost as if I am conditioned to have these things happen; it is very scary when you have that urge and you can't ...

Re: General Question

superuse (jjf)...well put, and thanks for the advice. I am going to see a psychiatrist asap, because I think you are right. All of my problems started with the confluence of the physical trauma (major constipation episode) that was during an assignment at a stressful consulting job, during the time ...

Re: General Question

Thanks for all of your advice/support. The female PT thing is interesting and may be a good reason to try Stanford and Dr. Wise/Tim. I am seeing the URO next week, but the thought of TURP makes me very uncomfortable (and the retrograde thing sounds really lousy). The wheat/glutin suggestion is also ...

Re: General Question

webslave, you are probably right. My PT does also work with me on the other phases of the program (I have relaxation CDs that she produced, etc.), but if I dont have success soon, I need to try the bigger program. Also, it seems as though the PT in California (Tim) is probably a lot better than my P...

Re: General Question

webslave, I hear you and appreciate your advice. What I might do is try to work on a plan with my PT (she is doing a seminar in a month or so and Dr. Wise might come out to NY) for the next few months, and if that doesnt work, I will go to Stanford. I know I have to be more diligent on the moment to...
