Re: Amazon Store for recommended products/books etc

Thanks Jay Before I buy the Tush Cush, my wife has a 2"x18"x14" hard foam splash board that she uses in the pool. She suggested I cut out a portion for my perineum and see if that works. If it works I won't have to buy the Tush Cush. I'm a little skeptical, but hey, if it works.....will let you know...

Re: Amazon Store for recommended products/books etc

I am considering the purchase of the "Cush Tush" from the Amazon Store. Has anyone out there purchased one of these cushions and which one would you recommend for a 200 lb man?

Thanks

I forgot to mention.....I am taking 75mg Elavil /day, 600mg gabapentin (neurontin) /day, 4800mg Omega3 fish oil /day, and 1000iu vitamin D3 /day. The Elavil makes me sleep very soundly and makes me groggy in the morning.....also dry mouth.

Re: Successes

I have been guilty of not posting when I get to the point where I can start to live a normal life again. I get the feeling that if I post a positive message I will get another flare up and I will need to start all over again. Well, here goes....... My situation is different than most of the members ...

Re: Vitamin D and chronic pain

I don't know if this is a good source but you might check it out. www.pamelaegan.com/articles/vitamind3.htm . The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition is calling for raising UL for vitamin d to 250ug(10,000IU) per day from it's current UL of 50ug(2000IU) per day. Can anybody tell me the difference...

Re: Anyone here find Pilates helpful? (Sam5935's Case)

Jay, Thanks for the input. I did not mean to suggest the Elavil was causing the bleeding in the urine. The bleeding started before I began taking the Elavil . I went to an URO today and he did a cystoscope and an ultrasound of the kidneys.......everything normal except some minor calcification in th...

Re: Anyone here find Pilates helpful? (Sam5935's Case)

I went to my URO this week and requested he prescribe Elavil and Lyrica for my condition. He wouldn't give me Lyrica because he didn't know much about it but he did give me Elavil. He prescribed 75mg once daily. I see on this forum where most of the guys taking Elavil take only 5 to 15 mg. 75mg soun...

Internal trigger points with proctitis

I have been diagnosed with radiation induced proctitis. Had radiation Jan-March 2007 because of prostate cancer. I have been also diagnosed with prostatitis. Question is: How far up the rectum is proctitis and would it interfere with internal trigger point therapy ? I wanted to ask my gastroenterolo...

Pain is 95% gone

About 2 weeks ago I began taking 600mg of gabapentin per day. Within 5 days the pain stopped completely except for an occasional slight burning in the rectum. I still have bloody mucus when I wipe but I am hoping that is caused by prostate cancer treatment I had in March. I will find out in about 2 ...

Blood-stained mucus after bowel movement

When I have a bowel movement, I always have a pinkish mucus on the tissue. Also about every 3 or 4 days I have bright red blood on the tissue and blood in the stools. I went to a gastroenterologist a couple of months ago but he wanted to send me to a urologist for a colonoscopy. However, since I had...

Flu Shot

Flu shots are recommended for us senior citizens and I am thinking about getting one. However, I am worried that the vaccine may cause a flare-up of the CPPS. Is there anything in the flu shots that could cause flare-ups of the CPPS symptons ?

Neurontin

I am going across country for the Christmas holidays. I am not on any pain medication at this time and am already getting uptight thinking about pain during the long plane ride and interfacing with relatives. My wife has been taking neurontin for a couple of years for leg nerve damage and has neglig...

Age of Members

I am 67 years old. Ages of members that have posted messages seems to be in the 20's, 30's and 40's. I would like to hear from members that are in my age group to determine if there are problems or treatments unique to us older members. I am new to this forum and am still experimenting with medicine...
