Alcohol can be such a problem for me as well, which sucks because it's at the center of much of my social life, I mean what do you do when EVERYONE you know drinks, some like maniacs. I think if I slowly eliminate it or at least drastically reduce the amount I drink I'd have less setbacks.

Same here, work full-time and at some points really had to struggle through it. Many days spent just staring at the computer screen because I couldn't think straight, and also used vacation/sick days when I had to. Since CPPS first hit me while in college, I delayed jumping into a full-time job afte...

I remember reading recently that someone here was getting very good results with cymbalta, that it had taken away most or all of his pain symptoms, I don't remember who posted it. I've tried Paxil and did not like it too much, made me very lethargic, I take zoloft which I tolerate better and has giv...

Yeah the novacaine wore off gradually and I felt better the next day without that numb feeling. Overall the cortisone didn't do anything really, and I haven't experienced any side effects. I think these injections were a bit too external. While these certainly were spastic muscles, my pain is much m...

I fit those characteristics as well, a thinking, worrying, perfectionist, not so much a loner, but seem to have become a bit more of a loner since my days of CPPS began. I also read a book called "Growing Up Firstborn" which describes how the firstborn sibling is predisposed to this kind of rigid, p...

That's what I was wondering, I asked what if the injection was just novacaine without the cortisone, doc said that once the novacaine wore off I'd feel exactly the same tomorrow. The cortisone could provide a couple weeks relief, and if so, they'd do injections to the other side. The novacaine is re...

So I had an injection today, in the piriformis on the right side only. I'm a little freaked out about it, the injection consisted of novacaine and cortisone, and was really quick. I guess I was under the impression that the injections wouldn't involve cortisone and would be more like acupuncture whe...

Thanks, MB, I did read some of your posts from last year regarding the injections. Are you still doing them, and have they provided some lasting relief in conjunction with relaxation or other treatments?

trigger point injections

I'm going for trigger point injections for the first time later this week. It seems that this topic has not been discussed recently, and I'm wondering if anybody out there is exploring this route and having any success. I also read some of the previous posts regarding the injections, and for me it s...

They may not be tensed but I think the point is just to start developing the skill of feeling any sensations at deeper and deeper levels. And then as you progress you can apply it to the pelvis. I still struggle with the tapes, resting with the tension can be really difficult especially on bad days.

This is something I would like to try, and certainly feel it could help my case. But I'm not quite sure I could handle the harassment/joking from people when they see me sitting on a toilet-seat-like cushion all day. Only a few people in my life know I have a condition (mainly because its so hard to...
