Moving pains! - Anyone else had that?

Hi Folks, I have had an odd end to the week where my pain has gone completely for a day on Wednesday, only for perineum fullness to return in the night. This abated during Thursday and became slight pain in my rectum (which felt like the prostate pushing into my bum) which I managed to abate by a go...

Re: Description of pain- Help please

Has your doc done a cystoscopy to discount a urethral stricture? Do you practise anything to help calm down your pelvic floor muscles?

Cheers Gary. Smoking is something I am going to put behind me. As it is I have only gone onto about 4-5 a day to try and relax me, but tis a bad thing.

And welcome to the site! In one way I wish you didn't have to find a place like this, but as you have CPPS this is the best place to be for advice!

Hey guys, How many of you lot smoke? I have been using it as a form of trying to relax my pelvic floor a little but I have found that the more I smoke the more I want to pass a bowel movement which causes my pelvic floor to tighten up, I can feel it as I am smoking now..... Re: Please Help

... Doxazosin. I took that for about a week and got off ... Give alpha blockers at least 3 months to see if they help. There is great advice. I am finding out now that my best friend is my alpha blocker (tamsulosin). It doesn't seem to work at first but with patience and time, this thing could be y...

Well....what can I say. I was due to have the procedures today but in the night I woke with rectal bleeding and some kind of constipation issue which may well be narrowing of my bowel in connection with my ulcerative colitis. I went to the hospital in case I had some kind of bowel obstruction but th...

You think the procedure gave you the stricture? Not sure I understand that one, oh well Cheers back at you... I was discussing the possibility of a urethral stricture with him at my appointment and he said there is a chance that a medical instrument or trauma from the Op itself could have caused on...

Cheers Carl. It gives me piece of mind to hear that your pain lasted just the 1 day! I had a ureteroscopy to remove a stubborn kidney stone a week before all my prostatitis symptoms started and that is far more intrusive (it goes all the way up into the kidney) and felt some nasty pain for a few day...

Thanks for your input guys, it really helps getting this advice from experienced people.

I am slightly worried that my cystoscopy tomorrow will muck about a little with my pelvic floor but I really have to have one to count out urethral strictures.

I think when the pelvic floor and other muscles in the midsection are tight and pressing on the prostate and other areas, it would contribute to prostate discomfort and all the associated symtoms that go with LUTS and pain. That's why some men get pain with sex and some get relief.Years of stress a...

Beginning to see the full picture - Pelvic Floor Relaxation

Hello All, As some of you know I have been debating whether my problems have been bacterial or non-bacterial. Over the weekend after another amazing reaction to a DRE by my doctor I was beginning to think that it the bacteria being squeezed out of my prostate that was doing this. Now I am not so sur...

Update after Urologist appointment - comments?

Just a quick update on my condition. I have been so see my Urologist this morning and he finally decided to do something about it. Up to this point he has just spoken to me about it without any examination and was simply pointing towards chlamydia. He was really good today and sat and listened to ev...

I couldn't find anywhere to get a Sitz bath in the UK so I simply get into a normal bath and am able to lift my legs and place them on the ledge of each side of the batch and sit at the back of the bath so only my pelvic area is under the hot water. You may want to try that. I have experienced somet...

Yeah, I am doing the stretches in the "Headache in the Pelvis" Book. I have been wondering if the Kegel Exercises have been helping or exacerbating the pains in the bum though. Like carld says I may well cut them out and see what kind of an affect that has on things.
