Re: Could Viagra cure chronic pelvic pain?

Wow. That's the same dosage (10mg) I was thinking of and everything! And, actually, I was wrong earlier when I said the FDA hadn't approved Cialis 10mg for daily use. Technically, the FDA allows up to 20mg/day: November 21, 2003 FDA Approves Third Drug To Treat Erectile Dysfunction http://www.fda.g...

Re: WebSlave - Biography/Summary of Recovery

Thank you for your reply, Hmdko. I wonder, was my impression correct? Is there thought to be a connection between this medical problem and overwork ("karou") in Japan? I knew the web site and it is one of the best in Japan. Have you ever met that doctor? Does he know any physical therapists who trea...

Re: ALFUZOSIN VS. PLACEBO

Hmm, this is interesting to me, as I was one of the forum members who thought he'd found positive benefits from alpha blockers! In fact, I mentioned it in the very first thread I posted on: http://www.chronicprostatitis.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=4297&p=22814#p22814 However, now that I think abo...

Re: ALFUZOSIN VS. PLACEBO

There was a response of 49% in placebo arm and 49% in the alfuzosin arm! This result does not support the use of alfuzosin in the treatment of CP. Well, that certainly sounds quite final about alfuzosin (Uroxatral). Or maybe I'm over-eager to cross things off my list? Alpha-blockers relax smooth mu...

Re: WebSlave - Biography/Summary of Recovery

Hmdko, if you are in Japan, you may be interested to know that there is at least one Japanese doctor (a urologist) who is aware of the Stanford/Wise-Anderson Protocol: http://home.s07.itscom.net/k-clinic/pritis/usa/stanford.html More about the Stanford/Wise-Anderson Protocol here: http://zenritsusen...

Re: ALFUZOSIN VS. PLACEBO

Do I understand, then, that the usefulness of alpha-blocker therapy lasting longer than 12 weeks cannot yet be ruled out? (from the Chinese meta-analysis Webslave cited) In the overall analysis, it was revealed that long-term use of {alpha}-adrenergic receptor blockers (more than 3 months) had an ef...

Re: Could Viagra cure chronic pelvic pain?

Will do. Very interesting that your doctor prescribed 10mg Cialis for occasional use, as I actually found 20mg to be a bit too much - felt like my penis was going to explode, it was so engorged when erect (OK, I'm exaggerating a bit :-) )! I've been thinking that 10mg would probably be perfect, but,...

Re: Could Viagra cure chronic pelvic pain?

I have been taking the FDA-approved maximum daily dose of Cialis, 5mg, for about a month. It has definitely helped w/ED, but I would hesitate to say what other effects it has had on my condition, as I have been changing many things in my treatment and in my larger life over the past month as well. I...

Re: ALFUZOSIN VS. PLACEBO

alfuzosin appears to be as effective as placebo Which is to say, not worth taking, right? Too bad for folks who had been hoping it would be found effective, but it's one less thing for CPPS patients to spend their money on and put into their system. Thank you once again, Dr. Dimitrakov, for keeping...

Re: Libido sensation

Yes, it appears that a person with a BH4 deficiency is unlikely to benefit from L-arginine. Thank you, Dr. Dimitrakov, for your fast and informative answer! I apologize if this is a question whose answer is obvious, but, in the interest of clarification, let me ask: Is it thought that all CPPS pati...

Re: Libido sensation

What's the synthase pathway that leads to NO? Would a CPPS patient be wasting their time (and money) taking (L-)arginine supplements if they have abnormal BH4 levels?

I'm no guru, doctor, or anything special, but I didn't ejaculate for the same period of time (no nocturnal emissions even): http://www.chronicprostatitis.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=4620&p=24977&#p24977 In my case, I think it was helpful to give myself a rest.
