No problemo. Keep us posted. Update: I saw a dermatologist last Saturday about the itchy scrotum. He saw some dermititis and prescribed a different cortizone topical cream to the one I was taking. He thinks it was irritated from a fabric softener or detergent (I still think it was from the cashew n...

For what it's worth, this is an interesting website on Dilantin:

http://www.remarkablemedicine.com/

The drug seems to be successful with a whole bunch of problems, including OCD and neuromuscular disorders.

Dilantin (phenytoin)

Just reading about the many uses of the drug phenytoin (brand name dilantin). It looks like it's only FDA approved for anticonvulsant treatment. Has anyone tried it for CPPS? Just curious.

My advice, for what it is worth, is to not be knocked out. You need to make sure they are going in with a flexible scope, not rigid. If they are putting you out, then chances are it's rigid. There's likely no stricture, but do you want to be asleep when the uro decides what you have and then starts ...

Thank you very much for that post.

Today, the itchiness seems much better. I'm hoping that it was just an allergic reaction that is now passing. But if it persists (which it very well may), I will definetly consider antihistamines and the rest.

Thanks again.

I'm hoping some of you can offer some help to me on this one. The itchy scrotum area is bothering me. I think my GP thinks that it's all part of my CPPS, but I don't. I think it's an allergic reaction of some kind. My pelvis is rather relaxed, but the scrotum skin feels itchy. I'm seeing a dermatolo...

Haven't changed detergent. Haven't really changed diet; however, I ate a bunch of cashew nuts before this happened, and hadn't eaten cashews in a long time. Could it be an alergic kind of reaction? It feels separate from my CPPS. My muscles do not feel tense. In fact, other than the itchiness I feel...

It could be just some passing thing you may have picked up. I don't want you to panic. I know that after all we go through we can have some pretty bad thoughts. In the worst case, excessive sitting may be irritating your pudendal nerve. See if it goes away. If it doesn't, try sitting with your legs...

The only thing that comes to mind for me is a comparison to a bee sting. Usually, after a bee sting, you experience pain and swelling for a few days, followed by a tremendous itching - during the healing stage. Perhaps you are experiencing healing blood flow that you haven't had for a while in thos...

New symptoms

I've been doing the SP for more than a year and a half now. Overall, I'm doing well. My pelvic muscles can now relax substantially. My urethral pain is pretty well gone (no more pain at the tip). Also my urinary symptoms are greatly improved. My remaining symptoms have been that the muscles still te...

It is possible that a circumcision creates some scar tissue in the meatus (tip of urethra). However, this would likely have been discovered as a young child (split stream, etc.). This is a typical symptom.

pruritus ani

My father was just dianosed with "pruritus ani". He's been suffering from a very itchy bum. Just wondered if anyone knows whether there is any connection between this and CPPS. Sounds very different, but was just curious.

hope he is ok. maybe there's some advice you can give him that might help. He's probably worried enough already, so anything you say probably won't make him feel worse. I certainly wish that I had someone to talk to other than the doctors that I was seeing. At the same time you could tell him that t...

your muscles are wound-up so tight that stretching them hurts. You should continue the stretches, and not be afraid of your body.

I often find that stretching now releases tight muscles. AND sometimes, just before the release I could feel the muscle passing through the pain.

Keep doing it.

for me this used to be my #1 symptom, and now I hardly ever feel it. Trigger point therapy is what helped it the most.
