Re: Dat der flaring...

A month further on and things continue to improve. Looks like the last weekend in March was the turning point, as things have slowly but steadily improved each week after that. At the moment I get a slight irritation after I pee for 5 minutes and then it usually settles down to a slightly swollen fe...

Re: Dat der flaring...

Had my nine month check up with my consultant. My flow rate has doubled from pre op and I now pee normally again. The post op irritation/CPPS flare/prostatitis/whatever it is is slowly fading out and will continue to do so as it did last time according to my surgeon. Apparently this healing rate is ...

Re: Dat der flaring...

Yup, it's a lot of waiting and a lot of little ups and downs. Keep at it. :) Quite so. Having been through this rigmarole before it tends to just fizzle out over time once you get something that works for you. It too 8 to 9 months post op to become not bad last time, and about the same to become go...

Re: Dat der flaring...

Again a little better each week although had a bit of a down week this week due to a stinking cold. Weekend before that was good though, and best yet in this bout.

So after 8 months still making progress. Hopefully should turn the corner soon, then again could be a while yet.

Re: Dat der flaring...

Seven month update. Gradual improvement, noticeably so after Xmas, some good days, some not so good bits in days but no completely bad days. I mainly have that trapped drop of urine feeling I had last time, which was the last of the nasty symptoms to settle down. Fingers crossed that'll fade in the ...

Re: Dat der flaring...

Six months in and things are pretty much going as they did last time - more good periods, the odd bad day or, more commonly, bad hour or two in the day, gradually decreasing post surgical irritation, etc.

Hot baths, same supplements as last time, stretching, and weightlifting all seem to help.

Re: Dat der flaring...

Yes. I used it last time. Don't know if it helped or not, but it was coincident with my recovery, so doesn't hurt to try.

Re: Dat der flaring...

Five months in and things are still slowly improving in the usual up and down fashion, with some good days and some bad ones. I'm back to weight training and work (just half days to year end), which demonstrate the improvement, but probably have a few to several months to go before it settles down. ...

Re: Gmccormack's case

Great news! I'm tempted to cut out diet soda too. Coffee doesn't seem to bother me, but diet soda - and, strangely, Pepsi rather than Coke, seems to.

Glad things have resolved for you! :-D

Re: Dat der flaring...

Four months in and there has been a significant improvement. Things started to turn the corner about 3.5 months in, and have become better and better over the last couple of weeks. I'd say I was at the same stage I was at after about 7 or 8 months last time now. I'll be going back to work at the sta...

Re: Many Causes and Wondering if Antibiotics is Suggested

For what it's worth, before my first onset I had problems with post void dribbling. After a lot of treatment, including antibiotics and alpha blockers, I had video urodynamics which confirmed bladder neck obstruction. For peace of mind you should arrange a cystoscopy. If you've already had four week...

Re: Dat der flaring...

After three months, things seem to be tracking pretty much as last time, perhaps slightly better. Still off work, which is fine by me, as I'm getting paid and feeling better. :) I continue my supplements, stretching, relaxation, and exercise. Hopefully in several months or less it'll settle down aga...

Re: Dat der flaring...

Coming up for 8 weeks in and things are coming along well. I started to feel quite a bit better at 6 weeks after a set back at 4 weeks, when I did too much lifting and caused a re-bleed. This continues to gradually improve. Main symptoms are a swollen feeling most of the time in the urethra and rect...

Re: My Case (please help! )

45g is huge for someone your age. It may be inflamed - as your urine results suggest, or just enlarged.

Your urine suggests you may have picked up a UTI, which may have occurred due to urinary retention due to the enlarged prostate.

Have you had a cystoscopy or urodynamic study?

Re: Dat der flaring...

Coming up for 3 weeks post op and things are settling down pretty well. Probably as good or better than last time.

Had too many false dawns with this to get cocky though.
