refresh my memory, Elavil at low doses is for nerve pain? Is that correct? And at higher doses is for depression? Wait...something doesnt seem right. Whats it for? Thanks, Ss Correct! Low dosage for pain or discomfort, it basically created an environment so things can settle down and heal as you go...

Re: Pain on or after ejaculation: do you experience this or

"Pain after ejaculation is a very specific complaint that distinguishes prostatitis from BPH or normal men (Litwin and others 1999)" Gav I interpret this statement as follows: Pain on ejaculation rules out BPH. However, this statement does not mean that all prostatitis REQUIRES pain on ejaculation.

Yeah I agree, I am deeply cynical of any so called "cures" for Crohn's Disease or Ulcerative Colitis as I suffer with the latter and have seen the "cures" come and go. But I have to be completely truthful to you now, before I came on this website I had visited the Farr Labs website and thought that...

The vast majority of the medical community hasn't yet figured out that over 90% of "chronic prostatitis" cases aren't caused by infection, yet they've now discovered a VACCINE?
Now that's funny. At least they came up with a cute little name.

We're all in here together and we should all be trying to help each other out. I'm all for taking a multi-modal approach. But implementing the SP in a material way is difficult for most here when working at a job because of time constraints. It goes without saying that you are obviously free to spe...

Rufus, I would suggest that your time spent combing medical journals for a magic bullet would be better spent reading and practising the SP. All that time hunched at your computer obsessing about your condition is doing nothing but making things worse, IMHO. Trust me, I've been there.

For me it is simply a release, not a push of any kind. At the end, I do contract to let the last amounts out, and I have found that gently pushing the perineum accomplishes the same thing.

I tried Milk of Magnesia -- it works, but you have to be very careful with it; too much and it gives you diarrhoea, and then it's hard to find the balance you need. It can throw you off for a while. Again -- and I really have some experience with this problem -- I'd try: Benefiber tablets at night ...

To be honest I'm not sure how long you should give an SSRI a chance before you try something else. I do know that many people have to try a number of them before they find one that works best with the fewest side effects. There are many different ones out there, as you know.

Stopping valium suddenly can cause 'rebound' anxiety. I don't think this is the best med to deal with depression/anxiety. Consider asking your GP about an SSRI .
