prostatitis calcifications

I never had a TRUS but had a CT looking for kidney stones. The CT also showed that I had "prostate calcifications". Other than that, no comments were made about them by there radilogist. My GP (not the radiologist) said that calcifications in the prostate are "normal " in older people (I am 59 ). I ...

Pregapabalin/Lyrica trial at Northwestern U

3/31/06 I just got an invitation today to join a Pregabalin/Lyrica trial at Northwestern University under Dr. Anthony Schaeffer. I see timberdoodle's trial is at a different place. Apparently there are many locations where this trial is being done. I would have to drive 6 hours one way to Chicago fo...

Urge to urinate

I also wonder about incontinence eventually.. I am not incontinent now.. I can hold off urinating but I feel like I have a constant urge to urinate even after I do.Very discomforting. My PT has and valium has needed has reduced my CPPS pain to a near zero level but the felling that I need to urinate...

Flexeril

I don't believe it is habit forming, but don't take it for more than a few weeks tops. http://www.webmd.com agrees with you. Why 3 week tops for flexeril? My GP perscribed one 1O mg tablet at bed time to reduce my valium dose. With flexeril , I can get by with 5mg/day of valium without it , I need ...

Amitriptyline

I tahe 2.5 mg of valium evey 6 hours day for pain. I also take 100mg/day Zoloft for depression. I thought Amitriptyline was an antidepressant too. But see that people take it for pain. Do folks tahk this for BOTH pain and antidepressant? If so, perhaps I could replace the valium and Zoloft with just...

CPPS and Personality

My guess is that there is a coorelation of CPPS wth personality. I would guess some of the coommon characteristics among most sufferers are. 1 Analytical thinkers 2. Perfectionist. 3. Well educated (likely with an advanced degree). 4 More loners than "people persons". I would like to hear from some ...

penal pain

I did. No obvious strictures other than mild BPH which my first uro disregarded. But if it is nerve pain caused by the cysto, it would not show in a cysto. Also I understand this const deep burning usually indicates nerve pain. I see no one else on this site who talks about burning as one of their s...

Stanford/Wise-Anderson Protocol never diagnosed with anything specific..

I see from reading AHIP that Stanford does a lot of tests to determine what one's problem is in their their normal treatments program to determine if it is CP,CPPS, IC etc. But they do none of that in their 5 DAY SP seminar as I see.. I had prostatitis symptoms and tremendous pain later on following...

nerve pain, mayo clinic

Thanks. My GP and others have told me thatt CPPS is a catchall phrase for anything the urols can not treat. He is activinly looking for ther cause of my pain including doing a pelvic MRI and sending me to the Mayo clinic. My symptoms seem to be so much different than everyone else on this site, That...

nerve pain, Mayo Clinic

Are you saying a visit to Mayo's pain department ( http//www.mayoclinic.org/pain-medicine-rst/index.html ) - which will cost me nothing is a waste of time? The reason that most GP's ,etc. do not know about CPPS/CP is because it is much more rare than CPPS as I mentioned. It seems that more common ne...
