ScoobySnacks

Only after 3 mos of taking 1mg three times daily of Ativan I was hooked. Instinctively, I began breaking the tabs in half, then taking only two, then one etc and so forth. I didn't know it, but if you cease Ativan all at once it can cause seizures. How did you know you were "hooked"? What were your...

Valium, flexeril

I see from this site that neither valium or Flexeril is recommended for daily , long term use. (I have been on 5mg-10mg/day for 9 months now Also I have been taking a Flexeril for many months also every 2-3 days. If both of these are bad for long term daily use, what is an alternative?

I have to add that it is difficult for me to understand why would CPPS starts one day on a sudden , like it did to so many people here I guess. I didn't realize that many people said it started all of a sudden. Can you recall anything that happened to you did emotionally, sexually, physically, etc ...

I have seen a lot of MD's. But I think it was an MD at the Mayo pain clinic.. He did not say why I should take it but just recommended I try it for my CPPS.
I assumed that it was as an antidepressant and pain.
What did/does it do for you?

my PT

I spoke too soon. My PT told me today she just accepted another job out of the area. She said that she was asked to name her price. She said she only wanted to work 2 days a week but wanted the same full time salary she was getting where she is now including full medical benefits, vacation, sick lea...

CPPS and sexual abuse

I heard another theory that said an unusually high percentage of people with CPPS had some kind of sexual abuse in their past and that their tightening their pelvic muscles is a subconscious defense mechanism. They may have repressed the experience from their memories so may not even recall it . I d...

I could break the 10 mg tablets of ambien in half. After two 10 mg tablets no longer worked after many months, I cut back., I used one 10 mg tablet for about a week and then 1/2 for several days- as my druggist recommended.. I have been completely off them for several weeks now but still only get 2-...

sleep aids

I tried every sleep aid that I can think of- Lunesta, Sonata, benadryl, Ambien,. Lunesta made me groggy the next morning but did not help me sleep at night. Sonata did not help me much. Benadryl is known to cause BPH symptoms It made my urinary problem much worse and eventually did not help with sle...

Cymbalta was one of the things suggested to me by Mayo Clinic when I went there but no one ever prescribed it to me nor told me the proper dose.
I may ask my GP to if I can try it.
What is the dosage of cymbalta that you are taking ?
Thanks much,

air in urine

This is the first time I have seen bladder fistula mentioned anywhere on this site.
Are the symptoms similar to CPPS?
I will have to check peeing in the the bath.
When I pee in a glass it looks like the head on a beer.
Thanks.

Dr. Weiss vs. Dr. Wise

My PT wanted to get more training on CPPS even though she only has me and one other patient with CPPS. She called Dr. Wise first but found that there was no SP training available for PTs now. Perhaps in the future. So she called Dr. Weiss and was told she could come out for a week of training. So sh...

MFDE

lookouth, HFDE book says nothing about faith healing or any other quick "zap". I don't consider myself "religious" by any means, but the book was a big help to me. But then again , perhaps I am less sensitive to such things since I did not realize AA's 12 steps only applied to "Christians". The book...

Anxiety

It was not until after reading HFDE did I realize that perfectionsim can cause anxiety (among other things). I realize now I did had anxiety before CPPS because of my perfectionism and trying to excel in my field. (I got a PH.D and have written over 50 papers in my field - CFD computational fluid dy...
