The obstruction is observable, but before I commit myself to be cut, shouldn't the Stanford/Wise-Anderson Protocol help? The Uro did tell me that if I don't get it fixed I am prone to future infections due to a vortex effect. He also said that alpha blockers probably would not help me much but it wa...

HI Kev, I have had video urodynamics and TRUS. Prostate checked out normal and obstruction found in the bladder neck due to thickening of muscles. My pelvic floor seems to be ok. When I get problems I always get a pain 2 1/2 inches below the belly boton slightly to the left. When I press it feels li...

Alpha blocker not working any more.

I have been on Flomax for about 5 weeks and found that it was working well. My flow rate was not 100% but fairly good. Recently, I have found that the Flomax is having less of an effect. Symptoms are slowly creeping back, flow rate reduced and bladder starting to hurt again because it is working ext...

Thanks for your reply Robert and Webslave. Problem has been solved. It turned out to be an infection which has been quashed with abx. Its usually rare after such a procedure but it can happen and it had to happen to me!! I think I should have realized that there was a problem when it was more than a...

Slight Temperature after Prostate Biopsy

Five days after I had a TRUS and prostate biopsy were taken, I've got a slight temperature for 6 days now, which fluctuates anywhere from normal to up to 38C. It feels like someone has stuck a bowling ball up by back-side, extremely painful, and when I urinate the pain increases a fair bit. Sometime...

I got retro in one day but started coming good (no pun meant) three days later but with a little blood when I ejaculated. This was probably because I only had the TRUS and biopsies done 4 days prior. As with the flow, it improved it a little but is still erratic. I've only taken it for 5 days so far...

If you have a reduced flow rate due to constriction because of muscle tension then the bladder will need to work extra hard to push urine out and therefore be strained itself. A constant feeling to urinate does not really indicate that one has IC as sleeper might suspect. I would have to agree with ...

Thanks Alprost, I will put any cutting off and do the TP release of the pelvic floor. I am just happy that its not my prostate that is causing any problems and the previous doctors were saying.

Thanks for the reply Richie. I am going to hold off and continue SP. The guy I went to is a teaching Urologist and seems to know what he is talking about. He told me what all the risks were and gave me Flomax which he said will probably not work in my case. He told me to try them and if I find they ...

Yes, do definitely go for a scope. Its routine and would help rule out any problems and put your mind at ease. Fissues can form when muscles do not relax to allow stools to come out freely. Analgesic and mild laxatives can help.

Update on tests

Back from the Urodynamic tests and a TRUS. An obstruction of the bladder neck was found which causes my bladder to spasm because it has to work extra hard to push urine out. Uro said that its a simple procedure of placing an incision in the bladder neck which should resolve problems. Has anyone else...

Hi Ken, the same thing started with me as it did with sleeper service. The pain moves around with out any pattern. Trigger point massaging helps calm things down when things get bad. In the morning I am pain free and usually have a moderate strem when I pee, but as the day wares on it comes on and m...
