Hi winding_road It worth trying to sit down when peeing, it helps emptying better. Urologist advise "normal" people to do this also, because it reduces the chanse of infections...so I've heard. My urologist also advised me to "milk" the scrotum and penis for the last few drops. That said, I haven't ...

Re: diet change

Moonrock, I noticed a difference after only three days. The burning sensation in the bladder has decreased significantly. What in the diet can you not eat? That sounds really good! The IBS diet I've looked into says that shouldn't eat meat, dairy, all fats, a lot of different fruit and vegatables, ...

Re: food and CPPS

Roberth, how long did you follow the diet before you saw improvement? A problem for me is that this diet conflicts with a IBS diet I'm thinking about trying...
It'll be oatmeal and water for me the rest of my life

Since my problems started in 1997 I've been a drop-out of five schools and universities, and countless jobs. So now I feel that work and education can wait until I get better, that's my personal focus anyway. A good job for me with my problems was working in the health-care system with different kin...

check out "Eating for IBS" and "IBS Relief" at amazon.com I haven't had time to read much in them yet, but the cookbook had a lot of good advice, and is written by a woman with IBS herself. But if you browse around amazon.com you'll find a lot of books on the subject. hope you find something that he...

Re: Public relief

People were staring at me and finally I got so frustrated I just said "I have a f***ing prostate problem so f**k off!" Thanks for the tip  And we do have stalls here in Norway, but at one of the clubs I go to the stalls are unisex, so you have to stand in line with only women- and they assume ...

Maybe he has a clinic or something to teach more"¦ That would make me even more skeptical! You're right :-) He actually has courses for patients I found out, so it's not too far off. But then again, he also means that the knowledge he gives is the remedy in most cases, so from that perspective I gu...

I have now read both books by Sarno now, and they were somewhat interesting I thought. But I'm a sceptical guy, and I had a few objections to his work. It seems as though he is blaming the unconscious for all the pain- repressed rage. Freud. Maybe it is all very well, and at times he has me convince...

My main problem with drinking and going out is the horrible public urinals. While I stand waiting for the dripping to start, others come and go, emptying their bladders like they have fire-hoses attached in the front. I want to kill myself when strangers comment how much time I'm taking"¦truly humil...

[quote="DavidInLA"]For me, very often smoking triggers episodes of IBS. quote]

There is a chemical in cigarettes that make the bowel start moving. I have IBS, and many different doctors have told me this. I think most smokers notice this effect when taking the first smoke of the morning"¦

smoking and symptoms

I think the main problem with smoking is that it weakens blood-flow, and it closes down the smallest blood-vanes (don't know what you call them). If you want tissue and muscles to have a good environment you need to give them enough blood/oxygen. This is especially important for the body to heal. Th...

The brain fog might also be caused by dehydration. Because of my frequency I tend not to drink as much fluids as I should, and this can cause a lot of symptoms like headaces, blured vision etc.

[quote="LightningTree"]An alternate theory would be that with a very tight and tense rectum, you tend to get some tearing at the anus. ---- I agree. Therefore I'm not getting my hopes up too much yet. I've tried a lot of things that haven't worked  . But if your rectum is reacting to fissures b...
