Re: Doctor in Los Angeles Area

I have had CPPS for around 12 years, been through 2 different urologists in Los Angeles and every test in the book. Both were clueless as to this condition. Does anyone have a referral for a doctor in Los Angeles that treats and understands this condition? Thanks There is Dr.Sheldon Jordan, a neuro...

Shayne,
For PT you may want to contact Laura Fraser. She is in Mountain View close to a CalTrain station in case you don't have a car. She has worked with David Wise in the past.

Dr.Wise says that they are very gimmicky. I personally get the best results with no tapes or CDs. They just distract me.

A doctor's physical examination is sometimes not enough to diagnose a hernia. You should have a herniography performed.
I know of one person on this forum that had an undetected hernia which was misdiagnosed as prostatitis. That person is cured now.

I never get any of those things. I've never had pain upon urination or defecation, no anus pain, really no pain except lower abdomen into my right testicle(which seems to get much better with stretching) and then this diffuse lower back pain that seems to originate in a couple of points just to the...

Capsaicin burns terribly. It is okay to use it for arthritis for example but it is unthinkable to use it in the genital area.

Same for me. The more I sleep the more pain I experience the day after. Also, webslave posted an article on Viagra for CPPS. It does make me worse as it gives me a strong erection all night long during my sleep.

I think everybody is different. It looks like Mark and I are sensitive to Chlorine but I am not to gluten.
Probably a reasonably chlorinated pool will be fine for most of the members but in my situation it was way over chlorinated and the sharp burning pain started while I was in the hot tub.

Carl,
Bromine is horrible too and I also had problems with that. It all depends whether you are sensitive or not.
In my case, I am sticking to my bath tub or a moderately chlorinated swimming pool.

High concentration of chlorine in a hot tub is what triggered my CPPS. Very interesting - as my CPPS started 3 days after I came back from a week at a health spa with my wife where it was hot-tub city. Scotsman, I can totally relate. Back in '96, in a similar situation, the pain subsided after 4 da...

Question regarding penile pain

I would like to hear from people who suffer from penile pain.
Do you feel a diffuse pain or is it localized to a small area?
Do you feel the pain inside the glans, the urethral opening, or is it strictly on the skin?
Is the pain more on one side or is it centered?
