Ladoga, if you are still around, it occured to me that you need to address whether or not you are an excessive masturbator. Clearly, defining 'excessive masturbation' is not something our society is inclinded to discuss. However, how often and what you do to yourself may be part of the problem. I at...

I was in extremely good shape when I got CPPS. I was running 6 miles a day and was at a low, stable, healthy weight.

Now, that being said, being at a healthy weight is ideal for health in general.

BB,

Yeah, sorry about the flare. That kind of coming and going happened with my brother. The trick is to stick with the program in the long haul.

And now, its a new year and I am feeling great.

I have a new job, I sit at a computer all day (I do NOT sit at home, though, when I can avoid it, just to not overdo sitting.)

I have no pain or awkward sensations.

This symptom is pretty common with CPPS when it is bad. It is pretty bad, and I am sorry you are having to deal with it. But know that it can go away. In my case, the scrotal pain went away after about 4 months and then I generally only had pain on the perineum and anus. If you can get to that point...

A question for you:

* Have you had the usual doctor workup to look for infections and diseases?

Best way to know if you have CPPS/chronic prostatitis is to go through the diagnosis process with doctors to eliminate all the other potential causes.

Yeah, magnesium helps with the spasms. I am basically at 100% now. And even though I don't even get sore from sitting for 8 hours a day, I still find that on occasion, my rectal muscles aren't fully cooperative. Keeping your stool soft will help deal with that and avoid the unpleasantness that const...

Yeah, one of the best things you can do in beginner relaxation is just sensory awareness training. You don't need to be quiet. You don't need to be in a quiet place. You just take 15 minutes to feel what is around you. Whenever you catch yourself 'thinking', acknowledge the thought and let it go. Th...

I think that is part of it. The good thing is that part of what is holding you 'inside' is fear of who you are without self control. Its not that different from who you already are, most likely. The other thing is, avoid lots of liquids at night. You don't want to be holding lots of pee in your blad...

Kilts cause CPPS.

I'd like to know how the light therapy works out. I'm 'seasonally affected' as they say, and always wish the earth were a little less so inclined so that I wouldn't be.

Some people have more side effects than others with this stuff. With Effexor, I definitely had constipation, a kind of 'light headed fealing' dry mouth, and constipation. This lasted about a month and a half until it faded to the point where I stopped noticing. However, the constipation can be fairl...

Lol. I like soda. One thing you should keep in mind with your therapist is that the best self discipline comes from being true to yourself. My point is that if you want to follow the SP, fighting against too many parts of yourself will only make things worse. Its better to get to the underlying reas...

Hey David, I'd like to discuss your son with you further. From a purely laymen perspective, there may be some things that you can do to help and they may be the opposite of what your son currently does due to his desire to control his tics. I could speculate that while his tics get better with age (...
