Re: New to the forum, but not new to prostatitis

WS I don’t know how exactly. I did a lot of things and wish I could identify the one thing that helped me with that. Initially it was using the lidocaine for the tip pain. I also took a couple months worth of Quercetin and graminex flower pollen. I changed my underwear to the ones I showed you and t...

Re: New to the forum, but not new to prostatitis

I used to do the hot baths every now and then. Doctor recommended as hot as I could stand, but I worry about boiling my family jewels in there. Now that it’s winter I’ll probably take a bath once in a while.

Re: New to the forum, but not new to prostatitis

I haven’t posted an update for a while but I’m continuing to improve slowly. My remaining symptoms are a slightly pronounced meatus, mild split stream if sitting too much, and still some sitting discomfort in the perineum (gooch). I feel great when I wake up and I’m kind of sore by the end of the da...

Re: Relationships/Dating with CPPS

I agree with Webslave for the most part. Definitely don't bring it up at first. You want to get to know her and form a strong connection, which will be difficult if you have to discuss CPPS right away. I wouldn't be worried about passing anything on unless you have the rare bacterial form of prostat...

Re: Don't know what I have but could this be CPPS

Sorry to hear you are dealing with this issue as well. The symptoms seem to be differ quite a bit from person to person. The urologist you saw seems out of touch with modern research on prostatitis. The urologists I've seen here in Seattle are familiar with Headache in the Pelvis. One urologist at t...

Re: 17 Months In...

Glad you are feeling better 454! I had twice daily prostate massages with antibiotics for 6 weeks and it had no lasting effect. The PT does give me some relief I think, but I doing daily internal stretching when I got back from vacation. I think I'm going to start up again and focus on a gluten free...

Re: Antibiotic warning - Fluoroquinolones

I had my right Achilles and ankle swell up when I was on prulifloxacin for only 5 days. I probably did way too much walking and also injured that ankle snowboarding the year before, so who knows if it was the drug. All seems to be well now thankfully. I definitely don't recommend experimenting with ...

Re: 17 Months In...

Thanks for keeping us posted 454. I'm sorry to hear your symptoms are flaring up and worsening. I hope this is just a flare as shown in "the graph" and you will start to improve soon, even more than before. Your story is important because a lot of us seem to have acquired this condition after oral s...

Re: New to the forum, but not new to prostatitis

I'm trying my best to... I made the mistake of pursuing too many of the wrong avenues with this condition and filling my head with the wrong material. It was very difficult at first to recognize it was non-bacterial because it started with what felt like acute urethritis and extreme sensitivity at t...

Re: New to the forum, but not new to prostatitis

I guess I didn't have any reason not to trust them; although it did cost me $350. I actually had my semen tested by my Urologist at Swedish Hospital in Seattle, WA a couple months before this. His name is Dr. Eric Torgerson, and I have to say he's been very good about running the tests that I've ask...

Re: New to the forum, but not new to prostatitis

If I had a bacterial infection wouldn't I have positive urine cultures, and more symptoms other than what I'm experiencing?

I'm so confused...

Re: New to the forum, but not new to prostatitis

Thanks for the reply Webslave. Unfortunately the prostatitis summary report doesn't specify if they are gram - or gram +. I emailed the technician for them to clarify this. Initially when they ran the tests the results were "indeterminate for bacteria", so they ran the tests again from my sample and...

Stressed out from semen test results

About 6 weeks ago I submitted a semen analysis to Bedford Research Foundation in Boston, MA as part of there prostatitis testing. This was about 2 months after I came back from Greece and took numerous antibiotics/prostate massages for 6 weeks, which didn't seem to help much or have any lasting bene...

I like the style of thoses.

But I'm not a fan of having underwear pressing against my junk so I wear boxers.
They work well if you are having sensitivity issues at the tip of your penis. For me, the boxer type undies would cause rubbing and irritation at the tip.
