Thanks Handyman, but I'm all too familiar with Neurontin.
I actually have a previous thread where I mention how I responded to it.

Dale : Oddly, I find my worst symptom right now is anxiety. I've had free floating anxiety and dysthymia my whole life and thought I had it beat. Then comes CP. Even though nearly a year has past since this whole ordeal has started, I still sleep poorly and literally shiver like a wet dog. Panic att...

So, Mark. Do you think that for those of us not responding well to Quercetin . neurontin, Elavil, ect and have as primary pains those like testicular and abdominal that hydroxyzine would be a good first step, eventually moving into a hydroxyzine\hytrin combo if complications arise? I'm getting progr...

The survey is back up and very comprehensive now. Your enthusiasm and input really spurred us on to make the best possible tool for describing ourselves. I strongly encourage everyone to take the time to fill it out. With enough responses we will really begin to paint a portrait of the CP/CPPS suffe...

IMHO: Adam is correct when he suggests that both clinical and basic research must be pursued concurrently. A summary, if perhaps a bit trivializing, statement may also be presented like this: You cannot know what basic science to pursue without clinical findings and you cannot interpret clinical fin...

This last abstract is interesting. Thats exactly what our group did (produce a precise consesus paper amongst recognized leaders in the field). I can tell you that once a disease entity has been established and verified by published peer consensus, doors open and money starts flowing. Thats one obje...

NIH initiates push for autoimmune research
NIH have allocated $609 million for autoimmune research in 2003 adding over $200 million more than in 2000. While CP/CPPS isn't explicetly listed of course, many disorders that have been proposed as hosting similar mechanisms are. The press release can found on the the NIH home page with a detailed ...

Luckily my current position allows me access to all Blackwell e-journals, so I was able to read the entire paper. Categorization was based on current EPS and subjects were not excluded by previous diagnoses as far as I can tell. Far more ominous however is the question of whether increased PSA in pr...

The fact remains that one third of all men show inflammation in their EPS, and never get CPPS. Actually, unless your aware of a longitudinal study that demonstrated this point, all we know is that 1/3 of all men show inflammation in their EPS. As far as I can tell, no group has been followed for ve...

Hrm. Well, I don't know what the selection criteria were for the candidates, but wouldn't a IIIa in symptomatic remission essentially be a class IV? And, almost certainly if inflammation is present, but asymptomatic, one would think they might be on the threshold at least of becoming so? ie. Perhaps...

Well, it seems the verdicts are in. So where will the focus shift next do you think? Pelvic neuropathic disease? Autoimmune disorders? Do we forgo the prostate as culprit in type IIIB/CPPS and start looking at the surrounding anatomy for clues? In my case at least, I'm betting on a neuropathic probl...
