Re: Tryptase-PAR2 axis in experimental autoimmune prostatitis
I had a very high mast cell tryptaste and did the study with cetrizine HCL and cromolyn sodium and had no improvement of symptoms. I also had to do a oral steroid treatment for another non-CPPS issue and didn't really feel much change either. Both MRI and the high mast cell counts seem to indicate i...

Re: MRI capable of diagnosing CPPS?
When I had an MRI, it said I had prostatitis because of the inflammation shown on the MRI

Re: AUA 2019 Meeting in Chicago
Hah, its a pretty twisted world we live in. I too have been told that my insurance does not cover “maintenance” PT. Since I’m about 6 years strong with CCPS and doing years of PT....My PT is being considered maintenance now as I’m not on a clear progression to being cured by the PT.

It's good to know that transgender surgery takes more importance over prostatitis.

Re: Botox used to ease pelvic pain
So in this Saudi Arabian study they were actually shooting the Botox into the prostate and not the pelvic floor muscles?

Re: Mesenchymal Stem Cells
Whether you want to label it as autoimmune or an unexplained reason for inflammation. I think the anti-inflammatory effects of the stem cells is still worth studying for this condition. I know I did have a prostate fluid secretion test that did show very high mast cell counts.

Re: Mesenchymal Stem Cells
The application would fall under the theory that this problem has some autoimmune type mechanics, where something went wrong (some sort of trigger event) such as bacteria infection, overuse, injury, etc, that set off the vicious cycle... and now maybe the infection or route of the problem is gone, b...

Mesenchymal Stem Cells
Anyone do any research or hear any happenings with possibility of using MSCs for this condition? I'm not a scientist, but I have been doing some reading on them. I'm particularly interested in their anti-inflammatory/immunosuppresive effects secreting cytokines. They have been shown to be able to cr...

Re: New study starting
I talked to a representative yesterday and it sounds like you need to make like 5/6 visits at these specific test sites to see an ophthalmologist. I read on a different forum that they discovered during animal testing that some animals developed cataracts. Little sketched out on this. That would be ...

Re: New study starting
I somewhat believe that inflammation is the main reason of my problem, and that the muscular aspect is secondary, so this is exciting. Curious of how taking this drug for 12 weeks would differ from taking steroids or heavy doses of NSAIDs? Do we believe this has a large upside over those therapies? ...
