Re: Ganglion Impar Block

prostate454 Have you tried a stool softener, like Restoralax? That might help you keep taking your NSAID medication. Probably best to talk this through with a doctor, but I know people who take stool softeners every day. I have some stool softener but unfortunately the firm stools caught me off gua...

Re: Ganglion Impar Block

My bursitis pain is generally in the sides up my hips, either right above or right below the trochanter. It's like a burning and an aching feeling, a little bit tender to the touch like it's sort of bruised. The trochanter itself doesn't hurt in my case. It's maddeningly stubborn too, I've had it fo...

Re: Ganglion Impar Block

Scotcan, the idea is to: A) Dull the pain in the short term...yes. I'd rather have a single injection than have to take a bunch if antibiotics or other pain killers. But it can also help to disrupt the pain channel to the brain. There's quite a bit of info about that on this site and others - how co...

Re: Ganglion Impar Block

I'm the one who has had now two ganglion impar nerve blocks. Both brought a significant reduction in symptoms (pain). I am considering a ganglion impar ablation at this point for a longer lasting effect. My symptoms are currently very much reduced at this point so I'm holding steady for now though. ...

Re: 17 Months In...

I agree. I believe she has a gyno appointment in June and I've already broached the subject about a week ago. It goes over a bit like a lead balloon as it's a reminder for her of how this whole saga started. I'm not as familiar with female testing but I suggested a vaginal swab culture and urine tes...

Re: 17 Months In...

I sort of came to the conclusion earlier today that no matter what I'm going to have him repeat the massage VB3 urine culture. I am extremely wary of taking abxs after c diff so I want to make super duper sure before I take any further steps...and go see my gastro to get her thoughts. I know the chl...

Re: 17 Months In...

Well sheeeeiiit. Got my culture results back last night. I was fully expecting it to be negative as I've explained earlier. 1. My post massage urine culture came back positive for extensive growth of e-coli. It is perhaps telling because I've never had a post massage culture, and even back in Februa...

Re: 17 Months In...

FLARE-UP DEFEATED.... ...so I figured out the cause of my flare-up. Thank god for the stupid daily excel log that I keep. About the time that it started getting worse I discovered that I slightly modified my internal stretching. I started working a bit more on my anterior levator ani, and I also, at...

Re: 17 Months In...

Thanks for keeping us posted 454. I'm sorry to hear your symptoms are flaring up and worsening. I hope this is just a flare as shown in "the graph" and you will start to improve soon, even more than before. Your story is important because a lot of us seem to have acquired this condition after oral ...

Re: 17 Months In...

Depending on the cause of NGU, symptoms may begin a few weeks or several months after an infection . Just to play devil's advocate - each of those symptoms describes my urethritis experience to the letter, except that they started in the first week (plenty of documentation I've read indicates that ...

Re: 17 Months In...

Unfortunately it all started with urethritis the next evening following unprotected encounter. Irritation, a *lot* of discharge (it was literally spotting my pants by the end of the first week), and inflammation of urethra. I tested neg for chlamydia and gonorrhoea so there were no abxs, then about ...

Re: 17 Months In...

Haha, if only. I've had two CAT scans and MRI of pelvis since this all began. Both showed everything normal except inflamed prostate and seminal vesicles. And some calcifications in prostate however I guess that's supposed to be relatively common. So the answer is pretty easy, inflammation. Unfortun...

Re: 17 Months In...

I'm basically at the end of the rope Silly statement from someone who has only had CPPS for about a year. Many of us had it for multiple years, even decades (e.g. Dr Wise) before overcoming it. You have it good, you're lucky, since you're able to build on our experience. Have you done everything in...

Re: 17 Months In...

I don't disagree that neurogenic inflammation is legit. I just don't know how to get rid of it at this point, assuming that's what it is! I've done Prosta-Q, Q-Urol, now I'm just on a 1600mg quec/brom and pollen extract per day....no changes in symptoms with any of them. Lyrica or gabapentin....no c...

Re: My Experience

Wow - so a month or so ago when I traveled to Philadelphia to Visit Dr. Michel Ponatari...at one point he drew an exact replica of that drawing and joked that he wished he had a name for what that sort of waveform was called and since I was an engineer he asked me what I'd call it. I came up with so...
